I can't believe that our gathering is this Saturday!! After all of these months of planning, it's hard to believe it's almost here!! Just wanted to post reminders and some new information as well.
1. Have you come up with a snappy name for the name our gathering contest yet?? Of all of the submissions, Dawn, Carolyn and I will pick our top 3 favorites and then everybody will vote and the winner will be our name!! There will be a prize for the author of our name!!
2. Don't forget about donations for the card ministry for the church where we are holding our event. Card fronts are welcome as the coordinator will mount them on cardstock. Everybody who makes a donation will have their name entered into a special prize drawing.
3. Dawn was gracious enough to take on the responsibility of feeding all of us!! Our catered lunch is chicken parm, pasta, salad and bread. I hear she has some tasty desserts lined up for us as well!! There will be coffee and breakfast items in the morning as well as beverages. Thanks Dawn!!
4. Group projects - Everyone will be making three group projects. Let's make it a point to be extra careful with the supplies we use on these projects as some of them, along with some of the materials, will be given away as door prizes at the end of the day!!
5. We will be having a 50/50 raffle to raise funds for next year. Hey, going home with a little extra money is not a bad thing, right?!?!?
6. Please bring each of your swaps in a separate bag or container as our swap coordinator will be dividing all swaps behind the scenes to avoid any confusion. Examples of the swaps will be on display for all to see.
If any of you have any questions or concerns, please let us know!!
Lauri & Dawn

Lauri and Dawn,
I wish I was able to attend but I wanted to say it seems very organized and I am sad to be missing a day filled with fun!

Oh my goodness. It sounds like you have a wonderful crop planned. I'm in Cleveland, OH, but try to get up into the Rochester area once a year. I'd love to plan next year's visit among one of your crops. Gals, have a wonderful time - I'm sure you will since so much hard work and a lot of planning has gone into this. I'll be thinking of ya.

 I know one of you talented women can help me on this quick question.
For my SU card front, I have a layer that is black cs, dry embossed spider web (Cuttlebug) on the entire thing. Then a coating of thick clear embossing powder and some white craft ink. Looks great!!! But I am having trouble adhering the next layer (simply a 3 x 3 stamped image) because the clear embossing is so thick and bumpy. I generally use the ATG adhesive. I am not a big fan of glue! Any suggestions????????
I was curious about the super tacky sticky tape (whatever it's called) with the red liner???? Help!!!!!!!!!

I get lots of days off too, but I always seem to fill them with non-stamping stuff...........things like mowing the lawn, laudry, funerals, weddings, etc. Well, I have the gift swap almost finished and I have a proto-type for my shoebox, so I think I'll actually make it!

I just got my card fronts done and sat down on the laptop to write up the recipe to stick to the back of them. Then into a baggie and I'm done with those. I'm trying to get everything done by tonight because my time is a little tight on Thurs and Fri.
My shoebox and card front are completely done and all packed up. I'm struggling a little bit with my gift swap. I'm thinking of a fall theme, but the execution of it is still eluding me. I'll sleep on it and maybe something will come to me by morning. Good luck with yours snowcountry. Can't wait to meet everyone on Sat.
Lauri;
I am counting the days. I can't wait to meet everyone. Should we wear name tags? Do we "sign-in" at 10:00 or should we be there early so that we can start at 10:00?
Marie
Hello there,
Yes, name tags would be a very good thing and something that we did not address. Dawn mentioned it to me and I do belive that she is going to have something we can use for name tags, but I will double check with her. If you would like to make your own, that would be great!! We are hoping to start as close to 10:00 as possible, so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully next year we will have ironed out some of these minor details that have not been totally clear this year!!

Can't wait to meet all you creative ladies and see what you all created!
Time for making new friends and sharing card making tips!

Ladies, a good SCS friend directed me to your thread! What an undertaking! Sounds like loads of fun...I am originally from Rochester and visit about three or four times a year. My whole family is still there!! Now living in Colorado Springs due to DH's job. We have been here for 10 years already (quite hard to believe!) but hope to retire back home when the time comes. I hope that I can make it next time if I'm back home. Keep me posted, pretty please?
Have fun and enjoy! I sure wish that I could join you!
I do have quite a few card fronts that I would be willing to donate to the church. Could you PM with info and I can get them into the mail to you? This way I will be with you "in spirit"!
