What to BRING:
Your Shoebox Swap Project (or yourself if you are not bringing a project!)
One sample card, and 10 sets of all supplies needed to make your card.
Your BASIC SUPPLIES KIT
Scissors, adhesive, stampin scrub, and anything else you think you might need
SHOEBOX SWAP GUIDELINES
1. Stampin' Up! supplies are suggested, but NOT required. Quality CS and stamps are a MUST!
2. We will make FULL cards which should have at least one accessory (ribbon, brads, buttons, etc).
3. Pre-cut as much as possible and put all of the ingredients in 10 individual baggies. (It helps to have one baggie per person so that if we run out of time we can grab the bag and assemble at home.)
4. Please bring stamps or any other items for your project that are not in the basic supply kit.
5. Please include instructions or tips if someone cannot figure out how to make your card by just looking at it. (Keeps cards to a simple to medium difficulty level, approx. 15-20 minutes per card.)
6. You are not limited to just making cards. You may make other projects keeping in mind it should not take more than 10-12 min to complete.
7. You will end up bringing supplies to make 10 copies of your card, and you will leave with your original card, plus 10 different cards that others have created. (If you are not bringing a swap box, you will come with nothing, but go home with 10 different cards!)
SALE TABLES
There will be individual tables set up for you to sell your craft supplies at. You know, those ones that you just never got around to using. Or the ones you used too much, and want to let someone else have some fun with them. If you would like to rent a table to sell things at, there is a $4 table fee. Please be sure to have items clearly labeled. You will be responsible for having change and handling all your own transactions. MUST sign up for this so we have enough table space for everyone. There will be a sale time during scheduled break, as well as after the swap is over.

Looks like fun. I've never done a swap before, so might just make the cards so see how the whole thing works. Hopefully that Sunday will fit into my schedule. I'm a bit confused about some of the info above though. . . the swap is on October 12th, but the deadline for registration and payment is October 15th?
Okay so this will be my first 'shoe box' swap. Let me just to make sure I get it. Instead of making the cards ahead of time I bring the supplies to the swap in 10 baggies? Is that right? Also do I go ahead and stamp the images ahead of time? Just want to be clear. Thanks!
Yes - You make one card. Then make 10 sets of supplies that you used to make that card, and put them each in a baggie (so people can look at your card and re-create it with the supplies). You can stamp the images ahead of time, but most poeple like to bring their stamps so people stamp their own images using your stamp. Bring all the supplies you would need to make your card (cardstock, ribbon, brads, etc.; whatever you put on your card). The only thing you don't have to include is adhesive and scissors, because each person will bring their own!
Some peeps are having problems with finding sitters... Nacole's 20 year old sister has graciously agreed to provide childcare upstairs while stamping happens downstairs. She is thinking $15/child from noon - 4... LMK if this is something anyone would like!
Hello,
This sounds fun. Count me in for sure on the registration and swap. I will have to think about the table??? I'll get my check in the mail to you.
Thanks for the invite.
I just want to confirm the date is October 12th and it starts at noon?

I am very interested.
I have only made --let's just say I can count on one hand, LOL-- a few cards and am just learning how to use stamps. So......if a newbie is welcome to check it out and make a card or two and NOT particpate in the swap, I would love to give it a try.
Wow, I would love to participate, but I have a 4 month old who doesn't let me have that big of a block of time to myself! Do you do this often? I would love to try to make the next one

We would love to have you...!
If you would like to make 10 cards, it is $20 (we will make extra kits for you!) Otherwise, LMK and we'll figure out something else if you only want to make a few and watch the rest!!!

We are planning a Christmas Swap in November.
Thinking about doing it on a Saturday evening...
If you would like, there will be childcare provided (upstairs) in the building we are in! LMK!

My MIL lives in Vancouver, so childcare isn't so much the issue, just that my little one doesn't take a bottle. November might work, since she will be eating baby food by then and will be able to go a bit longer without mom.
Let me know, I am always game for making cards, if it is close by and on a day I can make it, I will be there. I don't need to worry about Child Care, just need to know ahead of time so I can plan with my family!!! I am in Hillsboro.................
Thank you so much for the invitation! I am hosting a baby shower for a friend that day so I can't make it. I would love to hear about any future events however. =)
Hope you all have a great time!
I'm afraid I won't be able to get the car that night. Could anyone possibly pick me up? I'm totally new to this but went to my first Stampin' Up party last night & had so much fun! I then saw the ad on CL today. I'm off of Padden & 162nd. Please pm if you can! (I don't want to pay/commit if I can't go!) Thanks!
