Canada * Operation Olds Alberta - July 11 & 12, 2009
It's that time of year again to begin our plotting and planning for our annual get together at Olds College, in wonderful Olds, Alberta. This year the dates are July 11th and 12th, and we have room for 20.
This year's cost is $15.00, which covers the cost of the room, and a few amenities. Based on popular requests, this is a no-frills event, just a quiet time for visiting, stamping and wandering through the flowers in the botanical gardens.
There will be a shoebox swap on Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. These are open swaps, so bring whatever project you would like to, whether it is 3D or full cards, it is your choice to bring what you like. The group size will be capped at 5. To sign up for the swap of your choice, please send a pm to me.
We have the townhouses booked again, so let me know if you would like to stay there. The cost is $40 per person plus GST and Tourism Levy. I will let the college know who is staying where.

Charity Silent Auction:
Since we had so much fun with last year's silent auction, I thought we might do it with a bit of a twist. If you have anything you would like to donate, please bundle it up and bring it for the silent auction table. All proceeds from the Student Emergency Relief Fund. It doesn't have to be new or unused, just anything you may want to find a new loving home.

Hi Robin! I hope to come. I just need to get my DH back from the States to figure it out, and have us decide when we are taking our holidays... if I cant book in do to the unknown, I will just stop in for a visit if I end up being around! I will pop back early next week!
Just popping in to say that I might be able to join you this year....It is at the tail end of our holidays, and since we will probably be in Fawcett, I just might be able to wangle it. Will let you know for sure later .....but before space runs out.

Hello ladies! I have read all of your PM's and hopefully I have answered all of your questions, got you signed up properly etc. I made all of the changes in Post #1.
I have confirmed the townhouse situation with the college. I am supposed to collect the names of who is staying there and let them know. I guess they aren't too concerned about guaranteeing rooms like last year. So let me know who you are travelling with if you want to stick together with someone and I will organize the spots.
I have also added a twist for our fund raising. Please see post #1. Personally I'm wondering if anyone will bid on a big bin of scrap cardstock that never seems to get used around here, or half a million extra prima flowers (and you all know I'm not kidding).
Diane, Tamara, Christine & Adelee - I got your payment, thank you!
Talk to you all soon. I'm hoping soon I can have more SCS time. The basement is slowly grinding to an end, but the list of my chores doesn't seem to get any shorter. I did manage to get my EE stuff put away, and my card front swap mounted on bases so I am atleast making some headway.
Sorry, I've just found out that we have a family reunion that same weekend in Wetaskiwin so I won't be able to join in the fun this year......maybe next year.

Deb - got your cheque - I was just going through my craft room and organizing for OO some more, and low and behold, there was your envy. The card is absolutely breathtaking by the way!
I have gotten so many nice cards with your payments, I am in awe. You ladies have definately picked up a few tricks while I have been fighting with renovations yet again.
Now I am going to have to struggle to catch up.

I finally got off my sorry rear end to look up this thread.
Robin, I am tempted to sign up for a shoebox but I still havn't unpacked my stuff from EE and its all in boxes I can't find in my studio/den (aka the master bedroom).
Is there a deadline for sign up?
I can't wait to see everyone. Of course, for the Calgary ladies, I really should invite y'all over as I *am* permanently situated in the city now. It'll happen soon

No real sign up. I suggested that everyone prepare for about 5, and since we are a small group we can mix it up as the weekend goes on. Depending on numbers, we just might not get to do 'all' of the projects.

I did my shoebox last night. Very simple, but yet nice. Totally out-of-the-box for me. Used colors I never use. And all my packages are ready to go.

Good morning ladies! We are getting close to the event. Any more takers for Shoebox swaps?
How about townhouses? I need to let the College know how many rooms we need. I will send confirmation emails to everyone who has said they need a space.
Robin, I may take a swap spot- depends on what I come up with this weekend...
