Default Pocket Queries

Can someone please explain these to me in normal terms. Use words that a blonde girl like me can understand.

Thanks to Lydia I took the plunge and upgraded to premium membership and I am reading about the benefits of having upgraded. I just cannot grasp WTH a pocket querie is

Okay - you gotta put tape on your glasses for this one!! LOL.

I don't cache with a GPS unit - I cache with my phone and the app.

If you DO cache with a GPS unit, you can run a PQ based on your own criteria - like, say, you want to see all caches you haven't found within four miles of your home.

Or you want a list of all caches that are puzzle caches within 50 miles of you.

Or you want a list of all caches that are rated a difficulty 1 within 10 miles of you.

Once you set those up to run, it generates a little report that you can import into a GPS unit and you will have all those caches loaded onto your GPS for you to go get. It sort of helps you eliminate the "noise" of caches you've already found, caches you think are too difficult, etc. and helps you do just what you want to do.

However, since I don't use a GPS I use "lists" on my Iphone instead. so let's say I solve a puzzle online and get the final coordinates - I'll search for that cache by cache #, then click "add to list" on the app, and add it to my "solved puzzles, go get" list.

So it just depends what equipment you use and how organized you want to be.

Most of the time I just scope out a park or something on geocaching.com and say oh - there are ten in there, I'll go tomorrow, and I don't do anything in advance. I just show up there and hit "find nearby geocaches" and start hunting.

I hope that made sense.
