What comes to your mind when think about a Girls Night Out??? The VSN Girls Night Out weekend is fast approaching (Jan. 18th & 19th), and many people are starting to make plans and gather supplies for the event. One question that has just been raised is this: What does Girls Night Out mean to you? My guess is that it means different things to different people, depending on their age/stage of life, their culture, their marital status, their lifestyle, etc.
So, ladies, WHAT COMES TO MIND WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT A GIRLS NIGHT OUT????
HI Katherine!
When I think of girls night out I think of doing something with friends , something fun, something for "me". I do "GNO" once a month and we go to dinner and then Barnes and Noble for a coffee.
I love the idea of the VSN and hope to play one day!
To me it means getting out of the house and being with friends. Either going to the movies, dinner, or just hanging out at their house with no kids!! I think of lots of chocolate and maybe even comfy pink pj's.
I hope I can join you all this time at VSN! I will be playing Miley Cyrus's GNO (Girl's Night Out) if I do!
A girl's night out for me would have to include friends and Cosmopolitans! I love them and don't have them often so a girl's night out is the perfect time.
I checked out the VSN GNO. It looks like fun. I am new here and have not seen those before. I will have to try one!
I'm not quite clear if you're asking about GNOs in real life, or VSNs.
When I think about Girls Night Out in real life, I think about girl talk, adult beverages, and laughter. Mostly, it's about getting away from stress and relaxing.
When I think about the SCS GNOs, I know I couldn't make anything except a mess within the time limits! I'm very slow, I can take 2 days to make a card. The time limits make VSNs intimidating to me.
You have until 11 pm on Sunday to upload and 45 minutes for each challenge. The challenges are very easy and usually won't take you the entire time. Also, a helpful hint form me.....shhhhh it's a secret!
***have a bunch of cards already pre-cut and pre-scored, also a few of your favritite images already stamped and ready to color wouldn't hurt either! ;)
PS Krystie...I took a peek at your gallery....YIKES Girl, you are amazing! You have NOTHING to worry about! Just have fun and challenge yourself to try just one!
GNO - getting together with friends and enjoying a cuppa tea, going to shops and bouncing ideas off one another. Chatting to all hours of the night - of course with drink of choice and CHOCOLATE. Doing something with a friend or friends that share your passions.
For a stamping GNO - I would think it would be pretty much the same - getting together with other stamping friends and stamping all night long - challenging each other - going outside the box, or circle or ??

I agree with Denise, Krystie ~ your work is incredible! Besides, VSN is so much more than making beautiful cards. It's an opportunity to learn new techniques, to "think outside the box", to grow as a stamper, and to make new friends. I've developed some really special relationships with people I met during past VSNs. I hope you'll check it out!

OK I'm a geek! I keep seeing GNO and in my head saying it GYNO...YUCKY!!!!
I think a girls night out can simply be a break from your husband and kids (you need that sometimes) relaxing and chatting with friends, or can be a night out on the town. It's whatever you want it to be.
Note...If you are intimidated by the time limits of VSN then you don't need to play along as an "official" entry....you can use the VSN night as a place to gather ideas and chat with everyone and then use the challenges as inspiration at a later time without time limits. Just a thought!!!
Girls Night Out ... to me is just time for friends or I guess it could also be time with my daughters ... both adults and one not living at home ... so that kind of time together would be fun too! But I think a Girls Night Out can also be a Girls Day Out .... personally I prefer that mostly. Besides the things that everyone else has mentioned there is always shopping too ... now we all know lots of you enjoy doing that ... and as VSN isn't held during the night for me .... I am going with a Girls Day Out .... hehehe! Ok maybe some of it is held at night .... like 2am onwards ... but I will be sleeping by then ;) But I will get to as much as I can!

Ok, that would be better than the margarita's to me...why didnt I think of that????
LOL
Morning, Frances;)
Girls Night Out to me means friends and fun....and shopping, of course!
I had the BEST GNO when 2 of my SCS friends traveled to my city to stamp with me for the first VSN mini! We had never met in person, but now we're wonderful friends! We stamped, chatted, shopped, and had the best time.
GNO - The last one was several girl friends getting together during the afternoon and stamping. We had wine, tea and soda with snack type foods. We stamps and swapped stories, cheered each other up, cried some and laughed so hard we had tears running down our cheeks. We let go of the stress of our 'lives' and recharged our batteries so we were able to go back and deal with our 'lives' until the next GNO.

staying in or going out,
dinner, movie, drinks, chocolate (always)
laughing, talking, maybe even some crying,
shopping, and creating memories
with some of the best people in my life!
and then we go to our individual home and sneak into bed at some ridiculous hour of the morning!

For me, it's any kind of good times with good girlfriends! That could include staying in and crafting while watching chick flicks and drinking margaritas, or going out on the town for drinks and dinner, or going shopping together any time of day or night. The important thing is the time spent connecting with my girls!
Definitely good times with good girlfriends. Being a mother, it means being child-free too. Just me and my girlfriends doing what we love to do - hanging out and crafting or having a drink or trying out a new restaurant.
Movies, pizza, beer/drinks, talking about boys. Being with friends where you can say whats on your mind and not have to think about impressing the boys.
I'm off on the 19 and I'm stamping with you girls. What your mentioned phrase means to me personally is going out on the town/movie/dinner/event with my girlfriends.

Girls Night out to me is a husband and child free evening of hanging with friends. Usually includes good food, good drinks, and lots of good conversation with giggles galore!!
Mmmm... I love dinner out with the girls! And if we can go to a movie too that's even better! Unfortunately, Girls Night Outs come along way too seldom for me.
