Default What's up with the 'Simple Darlings'?

I'm not sure I've ever seen a banner displayed soooo much on SCS before, or maybe I'm just noticing it more today.

Anyway, I popped over to the site yesterday, because I'm curious like most of us.

So to me I don't care for them at all, they all have sour faces, not one is smiling. Why?

Here are the 2 that made me LOL:

Glamour Darling

http://www.clearandsimplestamps.com/...8&idproduct=45

I really think they forgot the sentiment, "My hips look fat"

DIY Darling:

http://www.clearandsimplestamps.com/...8&idproduct=69

Poor thing just looks TIRED!!!!

And lastly, Gourmet Darling:

http://www.clearandsimplestamps.com/...8&idproduct=44

The look on her face does NOT make me enthused about eating what she's got under that lid! And by the looks of her she doesn't eat much either!

I have no idea who draws these girls or why they chose to make them all so grumpy. You can be glamorous and SMILE:mrgreen:

Sorry if I offend the creators or all of you who like them, but they just seem weird to me. And I was TOTALLY excited when I saw the banner to check them out.

Default banner ads

Maybe we see that banner so much because there are no other (or not many other) paying banner ads currently slotted in these past few days?
I suppose that would make for the best use of one's advertising budget... find out when there are no other banner ads in the queue and you'll get lot's of exposure.

They are not my particular style either, but as soon as I see some fabulous card made with one, I'll probably want some anyway. That's how I usually end up spending money...with what I see uploaded and talked about here!

Well, Posh Spice doesn't smile much either, but I think she's pretty cool (loved her as a judge on Project Runway; she did pick my BFF Christian...).

You know, I kind of have a live-and-let-live philosophy when it comes to stamps. I've talked to people who dislike every stamp company I adore, and there are those images out there others eat up that I just don't care for. Diversity is a good thing, and I love it when I see someone make something great out of a stamp I didn't give a passing glance. It makes me realize I have a lot to learn. Plus, regardless of my personal taste, I know that behind every small stamp company, there's a person who loves stamping and stampers who has put her or his heart and soul into getting that company up and running. For that reason alone, they earn my respect -- I know I don't have the cojones to do it!!

Whether or not I buy from a particular company, though, I'm always grateful to see those banners -- I'm much more likely to purchase from a company that supports SCS than one that doesn't.

I like the way these stamps are drawn, they're not long, skinny Barbie dolls like the ones in the occasions mini. However, I do agree that it would be nice if they looked a little bit happier.

Do you mean the "She's All That" set? Those dark silhouette girls are spooky, like something out of a Tim Burton movie. Some beautiful cards have been made with that set, that's just the feeling I get when I see those images.

Default Two things....

* I didn't really care for the faces either. Can't tell if they are really sad or if it's just that new style face that I see on so many teenagers these days.

** Some banner ads purchased from Splitcoast by the advertiser. Others are purchased from Google and get popped in at any time that there are not enough Splitcoast advertisers. Google changed their policy several months ago, so now we cannot always see if it is one of their ads or not. They used to put a little "ads by Google" note under all of theirs.

not my style but they do look like some of the young women I see these days, expecially some of the the ones working at the mall. Maybe that's the inspiration "its cool to look bored." Its good to have a lot of different styles otherwise we'd all be making the same things.

Their a New Company that sells Clear Stamps. I like their stamps too.

I also found out the other day that I am going to be apart of their Design Team.

I found them about a month ago doing a search from clear stamps.
And I found them.

You could contact them, and let them know you're feeling about their stamps

Maybe give them some sugguestions. Sayings, Looks.

My only problem with them is one that I have with a LOT of startup companies. I would be more than willing to take a look and consider purchasing, if it weren't for one simple thing. NOWHERE on their site does it say who they are, where they are from, what their physical location is or even a telephone number. The only contact is an email address.

Sorry...that's just not enough info for me. I don't do business with any company that won't be that forthcoming. What would my recourse be if a transaction went wrong? How could you press charges for mail fraud or whatever if you had no idea who or where the people are?

I'm not accusing anybody of anything, far from it. I'm just saying, I think there are new companies that overlook some very basic info.

Cool

They look like the expressions of runway models, maybe this is the "look" the company was going for.

I will pass on these.

I discovered them last night and browsed the images and I like them. They're a little different and in all honesty, I know that I don't smile that often :-) I can see using them with some more edgy sayings.

It doesn't work that. I think that you get a certain amount of impressions not matter what. The rest of the time is filled with other advertisers of google ads. I think SCS keeps it's really consistent whether it's a busy day or a quiet day so that all advertising dollars are fairly equal. But the OP is correct, it seems like I have seen that ad more than I see mine, Bella, Papertrey, MFT or an of the other companies... Maybe they bought double the impressions? (Like two banner ads to run the same day.)

That's funny, I thought they were kind of cool. I liked a card I saw with the image of the three girls faces and the middle girl had pink hair
