What's the difference between the embossing folders and texturz folders?

I was just over on Pinterest and found a youtube video on Texturz plates? (not sure if that was spelled right)

I watched the video plus a couple more and aside from the plate/folder being bigger, there doesn't seem to be much difference. Am I missing something?


And the lady doing the video had an electronic Big Shot. I believe the video was made back in 2009, so it's not like the electronic BS would be new, but I've never seen one before. Pretty cool.

The Texturz plates have a different design on each side, and they don't wrap around the paper like the folders do. They are also larger than the folders, as you said. I find that the embossing isn't as deep or crisp as the results that you get from the folders. However, if you run the plates through your machine slowly, and/or lightly mist your paper with water, the impression is much better.
