Default Background stamps

I have so many that I haven't inked up in a long time...what are you looking for? I probably have it and then some. I don't know what would be the right price, but I'd love to get rid of them to a good home. (funny how they are like my kids) PM me and we can see what we can do.~Carol

I too would like to know your brass stencil recipe since those are in my regrets.

I have no major regrets so far, but the things I wish I hadn't bought are:

Coluzzle - Cuttlebug and Nesties are so much more my speed
Fiskars decorative scissors - like so many others here I can't cut a straight line with scissors
Fiskars corner punch that only works on paper, not CS - what on earth was I thinking?
A couple of stamp sets

And then there are the stamp sets that I really like but don't seem to get around to using. One of these days / years... I've bought some SU! DP, and I hardly ever use DP, but at least they'll still match my other colors in the years to come, so no regrets there yet.

It is actually the dollar store stuff and cheaper stuff I regret- I buy it because it is a deal and I *may* need it - then it just sits there. Usually the things that are expensive I think about before I buy, and use them well.

Oh and eyelets - I bought a share of every color eyelet in the world and haven't touched them. I hate eyelets. WWIT??!

WOW...I have way to much stuff if I regret all these.

HOLLY COW!! What an interesting thread........I have practically NONE of the products all of you regret only b/c of budget/money issues. THANKS for a reality check........and here I kept thinking that everyone was making these GORGEOUS cards w/ all the "latest and greatest" products that I will never be able to afford......come to find out, y'all aren't even using them!!!

I'd take #4-9 off your hands..... Do you have a price in mind??

I have all of 20 SU sets and 4 backgrounds!! No regrets.....love ALL of them!!

Who was it that regretted SU cardstock.....what size is it.....I'd LOVE to buy a few sheets of ANY colors!!

Wouldn't it be fun to start a box......fill it w/ things you're done w/, things you got as a gift but will never use, dp, paper, extra eyelets, dont mind letting go of......send it to the next person, they take out a few things, put in what they dont want and then send it to the next person and so on and so on......I thought I saw someone mention this on the scrapbooking thread.......COOL idea!!

I regret getting the SU Watercolor crayons. for some reason -- I think they look 'muddy' - especially after a couple of weeks. I created about 10 cards with them right after I got the crayons - and stored them for future use. I won't use them now, because they look so bad. Maybe I am using them wrong???? Any suggestions?

I was looking for something in my drawers and came across alot of things I wasted my money like things to ALTER. I really feel bad about spending money on things that I could of used the money elsewhere. When I look at my stamp/sewing room...its like a long pause, what was I thinking..just because its on clearance doesnt mean you have to buy it.

I **LOVE** this thread!

I am still glad I didn't buy:
Cricut
Bind It All
Hodgepodge Hardware
Tearing Edge Ruler
Wheel Guide

I have come to the conclusion that Michael's coupons have a lot to do with my regrets. I find myself wandering around looking for something I don't need because I can get 40% off of it! I bought a lot of the big thick Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooking books that were originally $20 at Mike's because of the coupons. Never looked at them. They sat in a box for over a year and finally I put them on ebay for about $5 apeice. I mailed them off and never looked back.

I got the SU Watercolor Crayons as part of my hostess benes - never used them. Those went on ebay.

After 3 years I realized that I just don't have the upper body strength to use a Sizzix. That went the way of ebay, along with a load of dies and the carousel thing that was collecting dust on my dining room table.

Most of my unused SU sets are from Sell-a-bration. Great - a free set. Not great - it's ugly and I'll never use it.

I just got a ScorPal as a half price item from TAC and the jury is still out on that one. I've used it a couple of times but I don't hear the angels sing when it use it. It's ok but it seems liek a pain in the neck to drag that big thing out of the drawer when I have a Fiskars paper trimmer with a scoring blade right in front of me.

I will not look at any other die cut machines that they invent, even if it also vacuums the rug, walks the dog and folds the laundry!

Tons of things. I have bought scrapbook kits off qvc in the past and finally realized they aren't worth the money when you won't use most of it. Better off just buying less and using it more. Fun thread!

For those not liking the SU pretties set, what didn't you like about it? I've been thinking about getting one.

Fastenator...sold it at my last garage sale
Design Runner...sold it
Stamp-a-ma-jig...bought it, sold it...bought it again, occasionally use it
Perfect layers...sold it
eyelet setter (one of the spring loaded ones) sold it
Prima Flowers...they look super cute in my hanging buckets, but I rarely use them!
Crop-a-dile...sold it

Things that I DON'T regret:

ATG...my favorite tool by far
Scor-Pal... even though I usually just use it to "scor"
Wishblade...have one of the originals and I still love it for special projects

This is a VERY interesting thread.

worst investments
-tearing Edge (what was I thinking? my fingers are FINE with tearing)
-buying way too much DP--most of it goes out of style before I ever get the chance to use it (mainly for pub calls)
-SU! eyelets and buttons
-light table (used mine once)
-carl cutter
-marvy punches

best investments
-scor-pal BY FAR!
-nestabilities and the wizard (my cuttlebug just doesn't produce that crisp outline)
-copics
-basic grey magnetic precision mat

For your wheels have you tried UM them and using them on a block instead. I use mine alot more by doing this. I actually have 3 binders full of wheels. LOl... I love EP and use it all the time. I do regret my Zip E Mate and Sizzix machine never used them but love my cuttlebug. I regret my bind it all I had to have and never opened IT LOL...

Oh don't say that I love mine. I have all sets of the 36 one's that MFT had so that is 4 of those i believe it came up to close to $500 by the time I was done. I have since bought 72 different sketch one's not going to think about the price of those and I just bought the Aircompressor and Spray gun to use with them the other night... I love mine

ahh haha and I thought it was just me. I bought the big one and everything i could get in was crooked so i bought the small one thinking it was the big one messing me up. Might have been but then I could never really think of anything else to use it for.... Now its just collecting dust and wasting space.

I regret buying the Sock Monkey set - haven't even mounted it yet. I guess I was caught up in pre-order fever, but it really is not a set that I would find much use for.

Now this is going to sound ridiculous but, I try not to live with regrets. I look at some of my purchases as learning experiments. My choices just keep getting better and now I have a monthly budget to stick by. I don't impulse buy as much.

What I can tell you is that I research way too much before I actually buy something big.....like my Cuttlebug (love it.....want to sell any of your folders, PM me) and my Cricuit (again - love it.....want to sell any of your cartridges, PM me) I want to make sure that it is something I really need. I tried both of them out and compaired them with other machines that do similar things at my LSS.

Good topic!

Just take a craft knife and cut the seam, then peel it off, it is so easy! I am thinking of unmounting all mine. So far I only did my jumbo ones so I did not have to buy a new handle and wheel. I am on the fence about the small ones because they are great for keeping my little one busy while I stamp.

Heather, you asked about the Paper Trey stamps.

The PTI stamp sets are just lovely. Great quality, and very artistic, for the most part.

I think that's the problem for me, that they are more like artistic elements. I'm not inclined to use all the elements in the sets to create the beautiful cards like you see in their gallery.

I never make my own background paper with stamps, but tend to use pattern paper instead. So I've not gotten the use from the sets that I should.

It really is funny how one person's regret is another's must have! I've used my Papertrey sets more than any other stamps I've ever had, yet some people regret buying them. And I see their point. On the other hand, I totally regret buying tons of cheap patterned paper when I was first starting out, but plenty of other people can take that cheap paper and make beautiful things that just astonish me.

Isn't it great that we live in a world with so many choices and so many creative options?

Yeah!

I'm lovin' life today. Can you tell?

Or you could look into donating to a boys and girls club. Kids love to paper craft!!
that's a great idea! think how you will be getting rid of things you don't use (and make space for other stuff you will) while at the same time bringing some joy to others at a time when they need it most.

Touche'.

Regrets is too strong of a word. Mistakes from my past that I have learned from makes more sense.

I love them...I love the company...I have always had fab customer service...but I have ordered them on release nights before and gotten carried away in the excitement and have regrets because I should have thought alot more about what I purchased than I did

For the last few months I have really been thinking about my purchases and the versatility of sets...and havent bought a PTI set for a few months because of this and because I dont join the release party...and feel much better now because it has saved me alot of money which makes me feel good and I already have a bunch of sets waiting to be inked and dont need to add to them

just wondering about those of you who don't like your WWC...are you using the aqua painter & watercolor paper? I am not a fan of the coloring straight onto the stamp but I adore using my aqua painter. It just takes a touch on the back of the crayon. Those crayons blend so great even I feel artistic!
