I'd like to give them a try, but I don't really want SU's current one because it's an alphabet. What other brands can I look for either online or at JA, M's or HL?
I just did the same thing...decided to give them a try. I ordered from PTI and really liked them. I actually went at it half heartedly and still liked them! haha! They have little sets, the ones I got were $5 I think and I got a matching die to go with them for a few dollars more. https://www.papertreyink.com/stamps/...ini-stamp-set/

I also have a lot of Papertrey stamps that I love and use. And Hero Arts makes great clear stamps. I especially like some of the sentiment stamp sets they make. Here is a good all purpose set:

Elise17, thank you for starting this thread. I thought of doing the same thing after SU came out a few weeks ago with their photopolymer alphabet set and a number of folks thought clear meant photopolymer.
Has anyone who has purchased photopolymer stamps online noticed if photopolymer is printed on the label or used in the description of the set?
But are these PHOTOPOLYMER? Clear does not mean photopolymer.
I was just going to mention that. There's a big difference. I thought the clear ones I had were photopolymer, but I read the back and all they say is "clear" stamps. I would like to try a set of photopolymer to compare, but I don't want alphabet stamps either, so I will wait and see if SU offers a little something different when the new catalog comes out.

RE: clear vs. photopolymer. Usually the packing is marked or the website gives information about manufacturing material. If not, I do the "smell test."

What smell should I be looking for? LOL Maybe mine are photopolymer after all because they do smell....
It's a strong "sweet" (?) plastic smell. Hard to describe but let's just say if you like photopolymer stamps, you'll love the smell. HA! Even my husband can identify the smell of new stamps.
Seriously, my clear acrylic stamps don't have a smell or, if they do, it's faint.

If photopolymer smells and clear don't, then mine are photop, even though they just say clear on the case. I have some small clear Studio G stamps, and they don't smell. My SNSS stamps smell, so are they photopoloymer? I love using the SNSS stamps. They do have a nice clear image.
CTMH and PTI are high quality. I have a few of the others too and these are my favorites. I LOVE the images, they are consistently fabulous, and I like the style. I prefer the sentiments at PTI, just because they're more my style.
Crafty Secrets--though they are moving away from physical stamps and doing more digital. The quality is excellent. (and I love that sticky sweet smell!)
Bugga, you helped me with your info, so I went to Sweet N Sassy Stamps website and they too are photopolymer. So I have been using them all along. They stamp a great, clear image!
if CTMH is Photopolymer, why do they call them my acrylix?
I think it's just a name...I can't remember the post, but there was a post awhile back asking the difference between acrylic and photop and it was said (AngelNorth?) that acrylic is what the block is made of, not the stamp. I guess there is no such thing as an "acrylic" stamp but that is the word that is used anyway. I think when people think "clear" they just use that word.

I just now googled "photopolymer stamps", and find several companies listed without even looking on the pages past #1. Gotta love search engine help. ;)
