Is there any way to pop-up vellum die cuts on a card? I have some clear foam tape, but vellum has a way of showing through any kind of adhesive. I used just an outline stamp from an Altenew layering set, so you know there's not much room to hide. I don't want a lot of elevation, just enough to get it up off the card surface, but I'm darned if I can think of a way to do it. However, if there is a way, I know one of y'all will share! Thanks in advance.

The only way I can think that may help is a silicone glue. Many of them come with a nozzle you can trim off yourself, so you could get a thin line/small dot? I actually bought some 3 or 4 ml syringes from e-bay for getting very small amounts of silicone glue onto my project. May come in handy if you find yourself needing to do it often.
There will be a shadow unless the vellum and the cardstock under it are both dark, and even then could be bit noticeable, and probably not the look the want. The nature of translucence.
That is, unless there's some magic vellum out there - and if anyone know, it will be someone here.
If you stack enough vellum it could hide what you use to give it dimension, but then would lose its vellumness.
Or you could outline the edge of the vellum diecut with something dark, and that would make the darkness look on purpose. And it would be. : )
You just have to bow to its translucence. I like heat embossing it, but I'll heat emboss anything. You could Versamark the edges with a Versamark pen, and emboss the edges, which will hide dimensional tape.
I just watched a video from StampTV (older one) where she white embosses some skeleton leaves on vellum, then used an full piece of silhouette double sided tape on the back (sheet was same size as the vellum) it worked great but I am not sure I would use all 8 sheets in the package if I were to buy it.

A few scattered sequins or enamel dots might give you a little extra hiding surface to work with. If they're placed on the flower in a couple of spots and then off, it would look natural.
Another thought is to curl up the edges of the flower. Even if it's adhered flat in the middle, the curled edges would make it look dimensional.
Me either - that would be one expensive die cut, right? Plus you'd lose translucency. If you don't care about the that, however, and just like the "smoky" look of the vellum, you could stack more than one layer of vellum - even four or five.

The only I can think of is if you cover the whole back with the clear dim tape. Then it would be one solid look. But you would also lose the translucence probably.
What shape is this?
I have only ever seen vellum die cuts stuck in the middle, say a flower and that gets hidden by either coloring, embossing or an embellie.
Could you link to the stamp and die set? I might be better able to visualise what you are trying to achieve. I've successfully used glue dots with vellum, but I've had some stamping and heat embossing to conceal them.

Cook, it's the outline flower in this set: Beautiful Day Stamp Set ? Altenew You can see that, except for the center part, there's no place much to hide!

Maybe an idea would be not to pop the flower but to give it a popped something to sit on? Something that will read neutral so it stays the focus and seems to float?
Like a narrow popped strip matched to the color of the paper it's over so it "disappears" and your flower stays the focal point but is now raised? Put the strip on an angle to the corner. It could sit directly on it or off center so half up in the air and half down.
What about the mini wiggle things from AI? It's meant for a character's butt to shake or whatever, but they come now in very small. it might hide behind your flower center and is so small it is unlikely the flower will shakemuch if at all.

Ah. But I think that stamen in the centre might be all you need. Can you get thick glue dots? I can here so I'm sure they must be available in the US. That's what I used to add a little dimension to some of the flowers on this card: IC476 Fabulous Wedding .
There's just one glue dot under the centre of the raised flowers, but even so I noticed the other day when I was picking out and addressing some cards that it is still holding up very well in terms of dimension. And you said you're not looking for much...when I'm upstairs later I'll check the size of the dots. I think they might actually be called Pop Dots, and are something like this: http://www.dickblick.com/items/23841-1030/
Thanks! I will give that a try - I do have some of those clear foam tape, which might work beautifully. Your card, by the way, is gorgeous. The pop-up idea is intriguing, too - might have to give that a practice shot, as well!

i would put a few small cut up pop-ups where the stamen are...and/or another thing might be to put a couple of rhinestones/pearls/sequins like at a couple of points, then hide the pop-up under that. I don't know if it would work...but maybe layering 3 or 4 of the flowers, and try 2 different ways...#1 - just stamp the top flower...and #2 - stamp each flower. That might give you the height, up from the card. My last suggestion would be to cut out as much of the inside as you could (similar to a die-cut), and use it as a layer at the edge...but probably not a practical solution, much less a workable one.
Thanks, Kitty - I'll have to go see if I have some white enamel dots that could work for that. And Diane, I never heard of dimensional pop-up clear dots, so thank you for introducing me to that product - it might be just the ticket for this!

I think they look pretty much like what I linked and described. I don't keep packaging so I don't have a brand name, and I had thought mine were not quite so wide as 1/2", but when I looked at them, they are just about that.
