I wanted to check to see how you all use your aquapainter. I just ordered the SU ones last week and was told I should never leave water in them... While I'm not disputing the advice, it seems to defeat the entire point of having one! Currently and for the last several years I've used the ones you buy at HL or Michael's and have actually always left water in it because I use it nearly every day for stamping. My current one is more than 1 year old now and the brush is starting to fray / split so I wanted to replace it anyways! If I have to empty and re-fill daily that seems like more effort than it's worth; so just checking to see what all the SCS'er do!! Thanks for your help!

Hmmm, I always leave the water in mine. I did have one that after a year or so stopped letting water run through to the brush but besides that I haven't had any problems. I think if you use it every day there is a good chance that it would dry completely between uses anyway.
I always leave water in mine. I've never heard that you shouldn't. I got mine when they first came out in the SU catty, and they're still working just like when they were new.
This is good news - my demo told me I should never leave water in it; but it sounds like there is not a big issue if I do! That's good because I really like having mine handy and having to fill it beofre each usage is not handy!

I have two, one that is stored with water and the other w/ Future Floor Polish. I don;t empty either one, store them with the liquid and leave brush side up so they don't leak.
I use the one w/ water very regularly so I'm not worried about the water going stagnate.
I've never emptied the water out of mine and I have had it for about a year. I use mine a lot so the water gets refilled fairly often. I haven't noticed any problems leaving the water in, plus I've never heard you should empty it every time.
I keep water stored in one and Future floor wax stored in the other, brush side up, and have been that way for at least the past two to three months with no problems. I do use both from time to time. Not sure why it would have to be emptied.
Mine has always had water in it for over 3 years. As soon as it runs out I refill it. Sometimes I go a couple of months without using it. No problem at all. The other one I keep bleach in. I covered the whole pen with duct tape as light makes bleach lose power. It works great too and I never empty it either.
I read to use distilled water if you are going to leave the water in them. If you use them infrequently, they can get really gross inside. Until I read to use distilled, I just emptied them out if I wasn't using them for a few days.
Is is possible that your demo was referring to bleach, not water? Bleach disintegrates when exposed to light and loses its bleaching properties, so you cannot leave bleach in your aquapainter. Personaly I leave water in mine all the time, store them flat and never had a problem with leaking.
Actually, the SU product guide says that for best results, you should empty the barrel and dry the brush for storage. If you don't use it often, it will get a film inside of it, believe me, I've had it happen with SU and another brand. It's kind of like the inside of kids' tub toys. The water stay in there and mildew forms. If you are constantly using and replenishing though, it's probably not going to be a problem.
I always leave water in mine and have never had a problem. The ones from Michael's that I left water in I have had problem with. It really started to leak when I left the water in it.
