Ok, so who is getting excited about the Virtual Stamp Night this weekend?!?!?!
I'm in, although somehow I got conned into going to FIL's for dinner for his birthday Saturday. Could he not plan that around a non-VSN weekend? But hope to make up the time on Sunday.
Excuses I do not want to hear for not participating: I don't have the right stuff! The only special supplies posted are a 5x8 steno pad and sponges. I'm a beginner! What better way to learn new stuff?!? I'm an expert! What better way to learn new stuff?!? I'm not cool enough! Actually, the only way to not be cool is to not play! I'm too cool! Well then, we would be so honored if you graced VSN with your awesomeness! I can't make a card in 45 minutes! I thought the same thing, but you'd be amazed at what you can do with the time pressure and not overthinking everything! I can't do every challenge! It's not all or nothing! Try at least one challenge! But they are like lay's potato chips... I'm donating a kidney this weekend! Hmm...ok, maybe I'll allow that excuse, but only with a note from your doctor.
For real, my first VSN was this past February and it was soooo much fun, as was the miniVSN last month! The hostesses & coordinators put so much effort into making it a great weekend.
(I did not get paid for my testimonial, and hope I didn't step on any hostesses/coordinator toes!)

I'm IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so excited about all the new peeps that will be there. There are always lots of new faces and new friendships made! Thats definitely one of the best parts of VSN's!
I have made some of my best friends at VSN!!
I'M IN!!!!!!!! My goal is to do more challenges this time than I did last time. I will have to be at a bridal shower for a couple of hours and oldest DD is turning 20 on Sunday so we have to take her out to dinner per family tradition. I guess my back being majorly out of sorts will give me more of an excuse to play since otherwise I would be working on the refurbishing of my house (we're trying to get it ready to rent out). The doc said no heavy lifting, bending, twisting, excessive reaching, etc. So it pretty much means I get to have fun. The pain is bearable now but only when I'm not doing much.
See ya all at VSN!!!

Hmmm...I'm debating whether minor surgery is a good enough excuse for a "maybe." Hope it goes well, and I can't wait to see your creations while on pain meds!
I'm getting over a bit of a cold so I'm hoping to play the too-sick-to-do-anything-but-make-cards card myself. ;)
This is going to be so much fun and hopefully I can knock out some birthday cards that I need to give out before school ends!
I must live under a rock or something, or don't look around the forums enough or something but I didn't know there was a VSN coming up. LOL I still don't know where to find the deets on it. Being that we're coming up on a long weekend here, I'm thinking I might like to participate. But, how will I find it when the day comes? lol I'm a VSN virgin. *sigh*

A virgin....we were looking for one for the annual VSN Virgin Sacrifice....
this is an honest question here: how does VSN work? Do you have to be hooked up to a web cam and have special passwords to get on a forum or something? I have always wondered about Virtual Conventions and stuff, just don't know how they work.

Nothing special or fancy like that AT ALL!
VSN is a forum here on SCS open to everyone that is a member of SCS.
Every hour starting at 7pm EST on Friday night through 10pm, then 12pm EST - 10pm EST Saturday, there will be a stamping challenge posted for you to play.
The FUN and exciting part is that you don't know what kind it is ahead of time and you have 45 minutes to complete the project. The time limit is all on the honors system and the best part of it. It really stretches your imagination and creativity!!

well you know, i have to put my priorities in order: Stamping, then everything else!!! haha...
j/k
I leave in a half an hour for my surgery and what am i doing? I'm on SCS... hahaha..
thanx for the well-wishes. hope to see you on the weekend!

Maybe. It depends how tired I am after helping my sis and mom with our garage sale. I usually try and do a few. I stay away from complicated techniques and those that require special tools and supplies. I'm trying to do more CAS cards. I've been in so many VSNs, including being a hostess. I know this is disappointing, but even though I love challenges, the excitement of VSN has worn off for me. :( I think it's because of the time limit and that I usually don't like the cards I have made.

We are all about CAS this round, not many techniques and only a couiple of "supplies" needed.
I am going more towards the CAS cards myself lately, I just love making a card in 10 minutes instead of the hour I used to stress over them ;)

Ooooh....I'm intrigued!! Can't wait until tomorrow!

Man...I was so excited, I thought it was Thursday already. I was telling my DH I need to get to bed early so I'm all charged for VSN....he sadly told me I have TWO sleeps until then! Which, even worse, means I have to go to work for two more days! Don't you hate that when it happens?
How come you never think it's a Monday, and then it turns out to be Friday?
WOW! I just found out about it! I have only participated in one other VSN and that was a while back. DH is going out of town. So, hopefully I can get some time to sneak in my craft room away from the kiddos and play, play, play!
WOW! Meg you can really be a cheerleader. I love all your excuses and so many times I have heard the can't do it in 45 minutes from my CNY friends. I just tend to make simpler cards for VSN, but I have learned sooooo many techniques from trying them: wax paper resist, mulberry batik, wood graining. We may not be doing that much technique stuff this time, but it still will be a chance to grow and the cards we make do impress our non stamping friends-I think we are too hard on ourselves.
One thing I do for VSN is I tend to use just a few favorite sets- not every stamp in the closet-that makes it easier. And unless it has color restrictions, you will see I tend towards my fave colors too.
As I tell people all the time there are no stamping police, just have fun and enjoy the process. I'm gonna be playing today after a certain 3 yr old BD party!

That is a great hint....I can easily spend 10 minutes or more deciding my stamps & paper!

Besides the weather here is perfect for stamping
Hope it was a great party! I'm stuck going to dinner tonight, but hope to see you around later today or tomorrow!
