A veteren's validation...cards do make a difference!
Here is a letter from a Vet, expressing his appreciation for a homemade card...keep up the great work, your time and effort is appreciated by those who need it the most...
Dear Annie: Last February, I had a heart attack and was rushed to the veteran's hospital in Loma Linda, Calif. The people were very nice, but waiting on the hospital gurney all alone was difficult.
A nurse came by, saying, "Someone sent you this," and handed me a homemade card. Right in the middle was a little bear. The card said, "Get well and thank you." Very simple words, but at that moment, they hit my emotional button. Tears started streaming down my face. Someone cared. I was not alone.
It took a small child to make the difference. I took that card home and hung it on the wall. This year, I needed a quadruple bypass. I am recuperating now, but I am getting better every minute, because God is with me and someone cared enough to write, "Get well and thank you." I'll never forget. I love you all. (P.S.: I was in the 82nd Airborne Division in 1954 in Korea.) P.H.
