Good for you! It always feels great to use what we have on hand. I had wanted to get my hands on some retired paper called NAUTICAL from a few years ago. I loved that paper, and I didn't get it at the time. Would love to find it somewhere!
I still have the first year IN Colors! Maybe I could use them......again for Christmas cards! ;)

I'm very close to using up a couple of designer paper packs from SU from a few years ago - Thoroughly Modern and Sweet Always. Oh, and another one, I can't remember the name, but it was a Saleabration item, it had Sahara Sand, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and So Saffron.
And then it seems like I'm always trying to use up retired cardstock, because it seems like as soon as I do a big stockup, they retire a bunch of the colors I just bought.
Sadly, everything Sage Shadow of mine is gone. I used up all my ribbon, cardstock and designer paper a while back. All I have left is the ink pad.

I just learned how to make the folded christmas trees from one half of a circle and that has sent me into my retired stash of DSP. Anything green is fair game at this point. 2014 is the year of cash only for craft goodies so I'll be busting into the "vintage" stuff more and more.

Anyone else re-visiting some older SU supplies and stamp sets? I know I had fun!
Definitely!
During October Hope You Can Cling To Challenges I make a point of looking into my older SU! stamp sets .
And last month I decided to reorganize my SU! ink collection. I don't like the new felt pads so I've decided to make my own custom collection of colours with whatever older style pads I can find to fill up my empty slots in the ink caddy. I have two slots left and Sage Shadow is high on my wish list to fill that spot. Ballet Blue would be the other. But since I like to live serendipitously I'll take any felt pad colour I can get that I don't already have.

Are you buying blank/empty pads and then adding reinkers?

No I'll just buy the old original pads as I come across them. I did have them at one time but as they retired and I sold them off. I still have the reinkers for colour collection of 3-4 years ago, so that's why I'd be happy to find those colours

I have a pack of Cranberry Crisp, two full rolls of ribbon and ink in the rummage sale bin. I never used it. I liked it but I always seem to use the brighter Real Red for Christmas and Valentine's day. Hmmmmmm.....maybe I should re-think selling it!
I also think using my older products brings back warm feelings of fun times with my great stampin' buddies at various SU stamp camps....warm fuzzies all over!

I brought home some retired SU double-sided papers from a scrapbook swap table and used them with a smile on my face this weekend. Ginger Blossoms and Haiku... I loved those dearly! And the retired Groovy Guava color coordinates perfectly with the new Crisp Cantaloupe, so it wasn't even a pain to match it up.
Now if I could only get my hands on a pack of Bella Rose!! : ) I'm still miffed that Riding Hood Red retired. Best red ever!!

I figure just about all of their core colors will end up retired at some point, so I don't worry about it anymore and happily use what I have. With all the colors that they retired this year I don't think what's left are guaranteed to stick around more than a few more years.
I'll bet that Early Espresso outsells Chocolate Chip, I use more EE since it came out. So, I suspect that Baked Brown Sugar will go in the neutrals next time and Chocolate Chip and/or Sahara Sand will get dropped.

I still have 3 unopened packages when it was an in color. "Buy Now! You will never be able to buy again" My demo said. Then it was brought back!!!
Now retired!!! Go figure!! But I STILL have 3 unopened pack! ;)

I still use my older SU stamp sets like Peaceful Wishes, Christmas Cardinal and Festive Favourites - numerous others - I still love them as much as the day I bought them They are like old friends to me.

Nooooo, say it ain't so! I love CC!
I am still a big fan of Ch. Chip! I don't even own EE!

I think there is a great divide between CC and EE. Most folks have a strong preference for one or the other. I forget how red CC is until I go to use it and it pairs well with many colors. I am naturally drawn to EE and would be a hoarder if they announced EE was discontinued.

But I would haveta get cranky if Sahara retired... I love, love, love that color. Maybe because we didn't have a light gray for several years there. But I would keep the marker forever just for adding shadows. Such dimension.
Funny how color is so individual... so capable of evoking emotion...and so important to us arty types.

I have been at my share of SU workshops the last few years; and decided this has to stop when I have so many supplies; that I am not using. I downsized some, but, now I have decided those ink pads I don't have refills for, will be for sponging cards, only
