Default Using Gelli plates and ink pads...

Some of you no doubt get emails from Gelli Arts and have seen the link to the blog post about using ink on Gelli plates, but I thought I should link it here in case anyone was interested. Just FYI:

Printing with Gelli Arts: Mini Gelli Stamping with Ink Pads!

No doubt some of you have already figured out that you can use ink on the Gelli plate. Which means you are ahead of me. ;)

Thanks for the link Robin. Pin'd it. I haven't tried using inks although I think I knew that was possible. Their blog post is helpful with the ink comparisons. Oh and those mini gelli plates look like fun (not that I need anything else)....

Robin, you will LOVE using your reinkers mixed with white paint. It rolls beautifully and is 10 times easier to clean up. Also you won't have to buy all those paint colors, just white will do. I've not had great luck with ink alone but when mixed with white paint it's perfect. When friends played here they tried several different ways and this one is the favorite. Have fun!

Thanks for the link Robin and thanks Nancy for the tip about the white paint. I don't have much luck with ink alone, can't wait to try the paint trick.

I do practice safe-gelliplating when using Dylusions ink spray - Gelli gets wrapped in cling wrap - the crinkles and wrinkle from the cling wrap add an extra illusion of texture.

Polly, I have the 6X6 and the 8X10 and have mostly been working on the 8X10 since I got it. I do look at those minis, they look like fun, but in truth I'm kind of wanting that 11X14 plate. I like the freedom of doing big, varied BGs and being able to pick and choose what area to use out of them.

The thing I love about mono printing is that you don't really have control over what happens. You think you know what you're going to get and you are always surprised.

I'm going to play with ink at some point. I was just surprised to see that they now endorse its use, since for so long they didn't. I hadn't though of mixing ink into paint, Nancy!

I've used cling wrap with inks and paint on paper, but never thought of wrapping the plate with it, Susie!

Are you talking white acrylic paint? It never dawned on me to buy white and create my own colors!
