That's what I've always done. I hope that someone will get enjoyment out of that stamp & it gives me a few bucks to fill in the gap. I used to buy so much more than I do now that I've built up a collection so I don't need quite as much as I once thought I did.
Oh heck yeah. I've even done on-line sales with a web cam in a yahoo group I belong to. Anything for cash for new stuff lol and if I'm not using them and someone else can I think everyone wins.
Hm, cheap for people who know what stamps cost, or cheap like garage sale?
I'm pretty reasonable about pricing, and heaven knows I'm a garage sale shopper, but rather than take a quarter, I'll pif or trade stuff. (And go ahead and laugh- when it's MY turn to hostess our Stamper's Nine, I make up prize packages to goose the girls into spending more, so I get good hostess benefits!)
If I am truly done with the stamps, or they are some I bought in a bundle to get other stamps, I sell them cheap! Stamps I think are in good condition and are some I could keep I price higher. At the yard sale at our LSS, there are a ton of stamps being sold, so there is a chance they won't sell. I price them so if they don't sell, I am ok with it.

You can hope that true stamp junkies come to the sale. They will know which sets are more rare/hard to find and will pay more for those. Most sets go for $5 to $10 at garage sales unless they were SAB give-aways or are in really used/stained condition. Those types of sets would be less. If you think a set is worth $20, price it accordingly and if it doesn't sell, you can post it later here or on an auction site.

I just did this at my LSS, and it was great! I priced mine between $5 and $12, and did really well! I made $250! I also sold some old SU catalogs for $2.
One thing that worked out unexpectedly: I had a lot of older cards that I made for classes or just for fun and priced them at $1 (with no envelopes). I think I sold about 100 of those! Next time, I think I will try for $1.25, since the store rings everything up and makes change.
