Default trimming background stamps

I just ordered By Definition and was wondering if most people trim the background stamps. I always do, but it seems almost pointless.

I have just started collecting bg stamps and I love them. I wasn't sure whether to trim them either, but I did end up triming them. There didn't seem like much to cut off, but I thought it would eliminate getting a mark from the base. HTH :-)

I trim them - sometimes it is not much - but I don't want to chance any unwanted marks on my cards!

I always trim them - although it is not very much that needs to be taken off but if you don't cut them they seem like they do not fit on the wood block! Especailly the Floral Background stamp I just received - it literally just fits on the block trimmed!! But it is a beautiful background!!

I always trim the extra rubber from my BG stamps. If there are big indentions where there's lots of excess rubber, I definitely trim that off. I don't like catching the extra rubber edge when I'm stamping. I just make sure to not trim so close to the letters or lined edge so that they don't wobble. I hope that makes sense...............
