Default too pretty to stamp on

Have you ever folded a piece of designer paper to make a mini book and then had trouble putting anything on the pages because the paper was too pretty to cover up.

LOL, just how sad and pitiful am I....

I'm like this too in many areas. When I buy a nice notebook I don't want to write in it because I don't want to 'ruin' it with my handwriting. I find with art supplies I find ones I really like and then "Oh but they're too pretty, I don't want to use them up" but that's what I bought them for! I try to tell myself I bought the items to be used, not to collect!

How funny, I am just like that too. My husband says please just use the pretty stuff. I am trying but still have lots of things just to pretty to use. I am so glad to hear there is someone else out there. I have recently started trying to use some of those things. Its very hard

I have masses of paper that is 'too nice' to use, lol. Some gorgeous K&Co textures vellums, too. And quite a few that 'I only have one sheet of' so don't want to use it. What are we like?

I know I hoard my pretty papers and take them out to look at them thinking that I'll use them for someone special like my daughter or friends that keep my cards. Last year I used almost a whole 8x8 pad of Graphic 45's Proper Gentleman to make masculine birthday cards and people loved them so maybe I can let go of some more of my pretty or special papers if it makes people happy.

It's so funny - I was just thinking about this today.

I'm pretty much over the pretty paper problem because I have learned that there will always be something else that I like just as much. Although I've thought about making a little swatch book with my favorites though - as inspiration for color combinations, and let's face it, so I'll always have a piece of it.

Like Szesa, I have this issue with other consumables. As soon as I find something I absolutely love, I start to think about running out of it.

I've been wanting to try Memento Luxe ink pads. Late Tuesday night, I found an online store that is in my own state and they had a good price on them so I placed an order. They arrived early this afternoon in today's mail and I tried them immediately. What a nice ink pad! But. . . I almost immediately started to wonder, if I love them and use them a lot, just how long will it be before they become dry? Crazy talk, I tell you. I have many ink pads that seem to last forever so it's a bit illogical.

By the way, the store is:

Glad to know I'm not alone.

I have learned after years of hording "pretty stuff" only to throw it away after hoarding too long not to do that anymore. Funny thing is I wasn't that crazy about this sheet of paper, it was too busy. Once I had it folded up into a booklet though, WOW the pages are so beautiful. I got out a pre -done booklet of velum quotes from my stash that I may use in it so the paper shows thru. Now I need to go thru my dies for shapes than will fit the pages as frames to cover the glue and then I need to pick papers that will coordinate and not detract from the original paper and then....

Yep, I'm over thinking it, I picked this paper because I didn't like it and didn't care if it got covered up. sigh - lol
