I just bought one at the Craft Super Show. I'm not a great coloring person, so while I will try that I was most attracted to the idea of inking it in one color and possibly embossing the image. I have two questions:
1. I searched the gallery and found some cards that use the one color, but was wondering if you have a favorite one I should look at.
2. What types of cards do you make with these? Blank... thank you... sympathy... etc.
I'm not trying to be mysterious! I sent her links to certain galleries of a certain store that carries a certain kind of stamp.
In the past, if I post regarding this particular company/store, the mods have sometimes removed my post because it could be viewed as self-promotional. Thankfully, they do allow us a link in our signature lines ;) ;)
CareBear5.....I do a lot of intricate designs in just heat embossing. Depending on the color paper I want to use, I will use either black, brown, silver, gold, dark green or even red.
I tend to use these cards for sympathy and thank you's
If I want to make a set of note cards to give to someone, I will also use this method.
You can also use glossy paper and color the background in various methods and stamp and heat emboss on top. That gives a super look.
I prefer to do this type of thing rather than attempt to color in a very intricate design. Has nothing to do with my coloring ability, I just don't think they look as nice colored in.
I use a black or brown ink for stamping. I like to color these with chalks, although I've seen lots of beautiful examples with copic markers. Here's a sample of one I did: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rusewcr...7604000486435/
The gallery on CHF has some samples as well.
What booth did you get the stamps at? I was at the Craft supershow as well but I was stuck in the papertrey booth for so long I missed a lot of other stuff.

Thank you very much! I can NOT remember the booth, but if you walked straight back from the Papertrey booth (which was INSANE all day, as you well know) there was a place that had these and they had the cutest front-back stamps. I'm kicking myself for not getting any of those.
I think your colour choice kind of depends a bit on what you're making with it but in general I go for fairly muted ones - Vintage Sepia or Smoky Grey Versafine for example or Adirondack dye ink in shades like Espresso or Pesto. Black can look great and for things like the Christmas images you can dress the card up with glitter (example attached) or embellishments rather than colouring so you get a handmade card with a lovely detailed image but it's really fast to do.
Just a little tip if you're searching for samples - the spelling is "Kinkade" rather than Kincaid so you might get more hits by switching out the spelling. Have fun!
Asela Hopkins made a simple but gorgeous Kincade card with a multi color Ranger ink pad. I wish I could find it for you now, but you'll have to browse.

Just wanted to say that your card is totally amazing! Love the glitter you used!

Aww, thank you! It's a stamp called Christmas Moonlight and the glitter is Deco Ice (made by Efco) - I think any fairly chunky clear or iridescent glitter would look good used this way. I just masked off the stamped image, used a bigger negative mask to make a wide border and painted Glossy Accents on there with a brush (any clear adhesive like Crystal Effects or Diamond Glaze would work fine, too). Then I lifted the masks and dumped glitter on there. You do need to be fairly patient to let the adhesive dry fairly well before you tip the glitter off to get the best effect, I think.
I love the TK images also and get them from CHF. I prefer to color them with my Copics, but like the look on Kraft paper with Prisma color pencils too. Chalk is lovely for a very soft, muted look and monochromatic is beautiful and fast. Here is a card I just did using the Rose Garden image: Birthday Wishes by created4apurpose at Splitcoaststampers
