Default Tell Me About YOU and YOUR STAMPS

I'd like to get to know you a bit more and what better way then to learn about you through your stamps. There's obviously a huge SU group here and some CTMH, TAC, etc... So, what I don't want to do is offer a debate for who has better stamps.

So, tell me:
What are your top 5 (or 10 if you can't resist) stamp companies you like?
What would you call your stamping style?
What's your favorite stamping magazine(s)?
What stamp are you finding yourself using a lot right now?

I'll go first:
What are your top 5 (or 10 if you can't resist) stamp companies you like?
aside from the SU and CTMH I like
  • Stampers Anonymous
  • Stamp Camp
  • Above the Mark
  • Lost Coast Designs
  • MJ Barber

What would you call your stamping style?
A bit confused. I would say I like the altered/collage look, but I do love to do a lot of elegant and cute projects as well.
What's your favorite stamping magazine(s)?
Paper Crafts and Somerset
What stamp are you finding yourself using a lot right now?
I haven't been stamping much lately, but the one I was hooked on is The Binding Edge, by Stampers Anonymous

Now it's your turn, tell me about you!

What are your top 5 (or 10 if you can't resist) stamp companies you like?
Stampin' Up!
The Angel Company
A Muse Art Stamps
Stampendous
M's $1 stamps...I think they are by Katie & Co.

What would you call your stamping style?
My stamping style is whatever I can get out that day. I tend to hate my work and be really critical of myself and then not stamp a while. I really like the 'shabby chic' look with cards though, if that makes sense.
What's your favorite stamping magazine(s)?
Right now I love Paper Crafts. I am really getting fond of Take Ten as well though....it has alot of neato things in it!

What stamp are you finding yourself using a lot right now? Using....using....my Prismacolor pencils. Sometimes I use gamsol to make them all pretty and sometimes I just color away with them. I love them either way. I've also been using my Niji Waterbrush alot. Scribble on plastic with a marker and then just pick the color up and paint away. Love it!

What are your top 5 (or 10 if you can't resist) stamp companies you like?

I started with SU and that's pretty much it for me -- I have a few stamps from Mike's Joanne's and other sources, but since I became an SU demo it's been just SU for me.

What would you call your stamping style?

Simple and evolving. I still consider myself a beginner stamper, so the simpler the better as far as I'm concerned. I don't do a lot of layering, add a lot of embellishments, or do fancy techniques. I just try to stamp things that appeal to me, and hope that others will like them too.

What's your favorite stamping magazine(s)?

I like Paper Crafts and Rubber Stamper

What stamp are you finding yourself using a lot right now?

Snowflakes and Sleigh Full of Toys (making Christmas cards)

I don't think this is a 'who has better stamps' question. Although all stamps are not created equal - it all boils down to the same product. Each has their own positives, but what is good for the goose is not always good for the gander. A person could swear up and down that mounted and rubber a better than un-mounted and acrylics - but again what's good for one is not always what works best for the other.

You may also run into people who have never used one or the other - therefore they think theirs is definately 100% better than the other giving an opinion not based on experience & experimenting with different brands and types but it's based on their personal collection and what they have used.

FWIW, I use wood mounted rubber - mainly SU!

Sometimes the most simplest designs are the ones that are elegant and look more complicated.

What are your top 5 (or 10 if you can't resist) stamp companies you like?
Stampin Up
A Muse - love their simplicity and humor
DeNami Designs - love the bold brushstrokes
The Cats Pajamas - love the retro feel, and of course, the CATS!
Autumn Leaves - love the artsy flourishes and designs
Rubber Soul - an eclectic mixture of elegant and cute designs

What would you call your stamping style?
That's tough - I'm very eclectic. I guess I usually try for an elegant feel - although I've been known to go a little crazy with my distressing kit from time to time!

What's your favorite stamping magazine(s)?
Papercrafts- although since I started on SCS I don't have much time to read it anymore!

What stamp are you finding yourself using a lot right now?
Artfully Asian & Linen. When I first saw this set in the catalog I didn't like it, but now that I gave in and bought it, I LOVE it. My next favorite will probably be the Cat's Pajamas stamps I ordered but haven't arrived yet!

So, tell me:
What are your top 5 (or 10 if you can't resist) stamp companies you like?

1) Stampin' Up!
2) Hero Arts (although I don't have any of their stamps at the moment. I used to have lots. I sold everything non-SU when I became a demo, silly, I know).
3) Not sure what other brands I might like since I've only had eyes for SU for the past couple of years.

What would you call your stamping style?

I'm never sure how to describe my stamping style. I used to aim for "simply elegant", but somehow I don't think that desribes what I actually create.

What's your favorite stamping magazine(s)?

Stamper's Sampler
The Rubber Stamper

What stamp are you finding yourself using a lot right now?

Well, I use my personalized name stamp on the back of all my cards, does that count? LOL Seriously, though... I guess I've been using the SU Paisley background a lot lately.

What are your top 5 (or 10 if you can't resist) stamp companies you like?
1) Vivid Jungle Designs (local stamp company - I live on an island, so I tend to go for local designs)
2) Hero Arts
3) Penny Black (love the cats)
4) TAC
5) SU

What would you call your stamping style?
Simple...well, it's more what I like than what I can actually accomplish. I have a hard time (sometimes...ehhh...a lot of times) stopping myself from adding too many embellishments.

What's your favorite stamping magazine(s)?
Rubberstampmadness and Take 10

What stamp are you finding yourself using a lot right now?
My plumeria stamp.

What are your top 5 (or 10 if you can't resist) stamp companies you like?
Sadly enough I can only name 3. I don't use any others. Not because I don't want to but because the 3 I do buy from take up so much month I don't have anything left for any others. ROFL! So my 3 companies I adore are:
Stampin Up!
The Angel Company
Missy B Designs

What would you call your stamping style?
Whatever I am in the mood for actually. It changes from day to day.

What's your favorite stamping magazine(s)?
PaperCrafts and CardMaker

What stamp are you finding yourself using a lot right now?
SU Lovely As A Tree & Country Blessings. Although I will be doing my Christmas cards this week so that is gonna change.

Fun thread!

What are your top 5 (or 10 if you can't resist) stamp companies you like?
1) SU
2)TAC
3) Katie & Co.
4) Hero Arts
5) Anything else that catches my attention!

What would you call your stamping style?
I enjoy playing in different styles. I love a distressed, rich look as as well as simple clean looks. As the moment inspires me, I choose my style.

What's your favorite stamping magazine(s)?

I used to enjoy Stamper's Sampler and Rubber Stamper, but I think that SCS and other online publications give me more bang for my buck. I haven't purchased a stamp-related magazine in MONTHS and have been more inspired here.

What stamp are you finding yourself using a lot right now?
Since I am currenly working on my over 100+ Christmas cards I would have to honestly say my snowflake stamp set from SU. I know, I know...ONE stamp...it's one type of image, right? lol!

My top 5 stamp companies
Stampin Up
Stampendous
Outlines
Hero Arts

I would call my stamping style simplistic.

Favorite Stamping magazines are Stamp It and Stampers Sampler

Right now I'm using Christmas stamps for obvious reasons. But I keep going back to Outlines stamps and trying to come up with new ways to cut them and new colors to use with them. I love the look of those stamps.
