My BFF gave me this set for Christmas. Seriously thinking about mounting the phrases separately from the image. Has anyone done this-advice, regrets, or other advice before I attempt it?

Good question! I recently traded for this set and was thinking about doing the same. My only worry is that the stamp might be too skinny and therefore may "teeter" a bit when stamping. Maybe someone who's already done this can give us some hints? Please, please, please?

When I have done this (I think they call it alternate mounting or something like that) I have cut the thin word parts at an angle so the glue side that you mount onto the wood is wider than the rubber word stamping side (Boy if you can make sense out of that description you are better than me!!!) That way there is a bit more stability to the stamp and won't come off the wood. I only figured this out after one of my stamps came off the wood because there was not enough to hold it on for a long time. I have not had a problem with any of my stamps I have mounted like this. By the way, I usually mount them onto the same block but the word part on the side and the main image where you usually put it on. Boy I really can't describe today. Maybe too exausted from the last few days? Anyway, hope this helps in some way!
