I am slowly converting my current colors, old stamp pads to the new foam pads. Are the reinkers I bought at the time I bought the fabric pads compatible with the new foam pads?
If I remember correctly there were five colors that had their ink formulas change when they switched to the foam pads and if puchased before the change shouldn't be used in the new foam pads. I believe they were basic black, basic gray, marina mist, perfect plum, and tempting turquoise.

I just asked my demo this two days ago! She called SU for me to get the info.
The poster above got it mostly right, but these are the colors my demo told me.
Basic black, basic gray, Tangerine Tango, perfect plum and tempting turquoise.
So for those five colors, old pad means old reinker, new pad means new reinker.
Not to hijack, but how long do SU reinkers last? I have some reinkers that I bought about five years ago. Are the reinkers still good? Most I've never opened.

I wasnt aware they had an expiration date. They might dry out is all. Good question!

I do not know what SU would say, but I use some reinkers I have had for 10+ years with success. I just shake the bottle and they do not seem to dry out.
istamp247 above is correct about the colors whose older reinkers do not work on the new foam pads. Basic Black, Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise, and Perfect Plum. The reason for this was not that they go bad, but that the formulas for those colors didn't work well on the foam. They need to be replaced with newer reinkers if you have the newer foam pads. I don't recall the date that we changed to the new foam pads.
On top of that, the Basic Black and the Basic Gray have now been discontinued and the current choice is for ARCHIVAL black and gray. Don't make the mistake of using a BASIC black or gray reinker on the ARCHIVAL pads.
I have never had problems with reinkers going bad either. I am using my old ones for all colors except the 3 above that are still current.
