Default SU! price increases...

am i the only one that's noticed that SU! has increased prices on most of their stamp sets? i've found sets that went up from $1 to $5 per set! i guess i'm just surprised since it seemed like just last year they increased prices and i haven't seen anything on the boards about a price increase either. maybe SU! is hoping we just won't notice?

I have noticed. With all of the competition out there I would think they would lower some prices.

I now will buy stamp sets from other vendors as they are much cheaper. I also like to have unmounted as they are easier to store. I hate to waste the blocks. I also do not like paying for the blocks if I do not intend on using them.

They are going to price themselves right out of the market.

Just my 2 cents.

I haven't even looked at their new catty yet, but I'll have to now. As a former demo I'm not surprised, although I think it's extremely unwise in the current economy.

personally i still think it is a good value.

i was just at michael's yesterday and there was a wedding set with 1 image & 1 sentiment for $15.95!

but i prefer wood mounted rubber, so even tho unmounteds and clears are cheaper... i wouldn't use them.

just my opinion...

also, keep in mind that EVERYTHING in the new catalog is die cut, so no more time consuming trimming - time is money baby I'd much rather pay a buck or two more and be off and running in minutes!

Yeah...everything is going up everywhere...no different with SU.

I think they are priced right still...not that I like paying more...but $5.95 for ink pads is irritating compared to the old $5.25, yet great compared to $7.99 for some in stores.

I agree on the stamp sets...Amuse is $5-9 per stamp, and I always need 2 or 3 that go together, so a TINY 3pc set is $22 on average...SU is still under $20 for 4 smaller stamps.

not disagreeing with you all. just surprised that no one has mentioned this.

and, while the prices overall may seem reasonable, 20% increases seem a little extreme, especially when you take into account an increase last year as well.

It actually was brought up on a couple other threads...

And I agree...$5 is a big jump...might push more people to buy current stuff on Ebay!

Me too! I prefer wood mounted stamps to clears and un-mounted, just my personal preference. I have all of them, but wood mounted just suits me best Glad to know I'm not alone.

I have had customer raves about the die cuts...my stamp sales went up now that their labor went down.. they were willing to pay for it with increased set prices..I had several that only purchased from the mini's because they were die cut..

I'm probably the happiest with the die cut offerings we have now. Saves me time and get's me stampin faster..

What's the old adage..."You get what you pay for"? I am more then happy to pay a few extra dollars for stamps that are die cut! Also, as already mentioned above I have yet to find any wood mounted rubber stamps that are as good a deal as SU's sets.

I too prefer wood mounted and the fact that they are die cut is a bonus. I don't have that many sets yet but from what I have seen in the stores. SU prices are still better.

Are you sure you were looking at the catalog prices (not the SU website store prices which are 10% higher). We were told that only 3 things had increased in this catalog - stampin mist (manufacturer increase), single ink pads (manufacturer increase) and stamps sets that did not used to be die cut. When I checked a few sets, the ones that were already die cut stayed the same price, and the ones that switched to die cut went up around $3.

Yes I have noticed and won't be able to spend as much. I also remember a stamp company called "Darices." They were espensive but beautiful. They ended up going out of business with the stamps. It was a loss to me and those that loved their products. I hope Su doesn't end up this way as I love to order from them.

I noticed this as well. May not make me stop buying from them, but I may end up buying less since I can get less for the same amount of money.

Couldn't agree with you more! Don't they understand the sad state of our economy :(
