I don't know.....when I look at a page, I find it annoying that the samples on that page DO NOT correspond to the stamp sets on them. Some sets don't even have a sample shown! Ah, well, THANK HEAVENS FOR SPLITCOAST and all the great ideas here.

As for the clay molds, MEH. Silicone molds are all over etsy and the internet, it's another fad. I really wish SU would concentrate on GREAT STAMPS, PAPER, and INK. I really don't have too much confidence in those new foam ink pads.

To each her own I'm looking forward to getting the clay molds

As far as not having samples for each stamp set, that is to keep the catalog and the price down. I like $5 a lot better than $10

There are lots of great stamp sets for you to love.

I think this catalog is much better than the last one! And I would love to try those molds! So I'd say there is something for everyone in it!!

I think I am going to like the coredinations cardstock; as a layer; especially embossed and lightly sanded; also with the torn edge effect

Oh, I don't mean every set has to have a sample, but I think the samples on the page ought to correspond with the set on that page, especially since the project recipes are not in the back of the catalog anymore.

I am very fortunate that my demo does not charge me for catalogs.

My thoughts exactly! Now that I've had a look at the new catalog I can say I'm more happy than I thought I would be! Love the new look, love the new stamps...I think my wish list has grown quite a bit longer. If only I were a salesperson I would sign up for such a great deal!! Can you just be a hobbyist without having to sell? I know there's still that quarterly quota, but is the discount considerable, worth signing up for?

Hi Kathy, lots of people sign up just for the discount, and feel that it's well worth it! The quarter you sign up is a freebie, no minimums, and from then on the minimum requirement to stay active is $300. That's retail, before the 20% discount. Example: the quarters are Jan-Mar, April-June, July-Sept, and Oct-Dec. If you were to sign up now, you would have no minimums required this quarter through June. You would have until September 30 to place $300 in orders to stay active. Some people drop at that point, which is okay. There are no requirements to sell. Being a demonstrator gives you the perks of access to sneak peaks, the demonstrator website, Stampin' Success - every other month demonstrator magazine with all the news and great ideas, AND you can qualify for all the hostess benefits on your orders that reach $150 or more.
Talk to your demonstrator and he/she can give you all the details. If you sign up now before May 30, you will get an additional $30 in product in your starter kit. It's a killer deal!

Hope you join our ranks of demonstrators.

Thank you, Alicia, for the detailed explanation! I'm so grateful for you taking the time to answer my questions. I am considering joining. My one problem is I do have a little blog, (not widely read) I do post what I make and I do use other products-would continue to use them because I own them but I would not advertise that I'm a demo at all since I just want to be a hobbyist...would SU require I take down that blog?

You just aren't supposed to "promote" other products. So, you can say you used them but not go on and on and gush about how wonderful they are AND you cannot link to any site with a "shopping cart" outside of SU products. So it's not at restrictive at people make it out to be.

I'm in love with way too many things!
Love the Label love stamps and Artisan punch, the Chalk Talk and Tag it stamps and matching dies.
I'm also loving the grunge stamps. And the Mosaic stamps, punch and embossing folder...
too many to list.

Ahh, I need Yippee-Skippee, too--those are cuteness!

Personally, I am loving the new catalog. Maybe it is trying to appeal to the younger ones...then it's working! I like the "Pinnable" things and new project ideas/new ways to use old things. Love love love it.

artisan punch and stamps to match. Love it! Hexagon punch...why didn't they get one that would punch a size that would fit inside honeycomb folder hexagons?

Oh shoot, does it not?? I automatically assumed that the punch was sized for both the coordinating stamp set AND the embossing folder...because that would make sense.

there's been lots of discussion here about the size of this punch. The consensus seems to think it's bigger than the one inch punch. They have some matching stamps to go with the punch but they all appear bigger than the hexagon on that folder. I was hoping for a smaller one too

Default Holiday sets?

Did I miss something? There are no Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, or Halloween sets in the new catalogue. I know the minis will have some but I have people that buy these year round.

Can anyone tell me if the stamp set Secret Garden from the spring mini made it into the catalog? If not, I only have a few more weeks to get it. I've seen so many cool things made with it. Thanks.

Yeppers it's there. I love all the romantic things and the collage things oh and the ribbon and I'm sooooo glad to see some DSP that I love. One DSP has marbled paper patterns in it !! I love marbled paper I used to make it with my 5th graders so they could use it as end pages on their hand bound books. I also taught them to make illuminated letters to use in their books. I think the Eastern Elegance and Venetian Romance suites are to die for!

The hexagon punch is much larger than the EF and is made to go with a stamp set.

I bet the goal is for everyone to buy the bigger punch just because, and then come out with a smaller one that fits the folder so you 'have' to buy it too.

Or is that me being a bit cynical?

I'm not really sure I even like the larger hexagon punch, even with coordinating stamps. It's too big. I think I'll pass unless they come with a smaller one to match the folder.

I think it's nice that there is a stamp set to go with the punch. I'm curious how the "too large" punch would look if it were popped up (using a dimensional or similar foam adhesive) atop an embossed hexagon. How much would it overlap the neighboring hexagons?

(I haven't seen the new catalog yet)

It would probably be okay to add one or two hexagons but the way I was going to use it I would need the smaller one.

At first I went huh? When I saw the size of the hexagon punch, but you know - I think it is like a map insert. Like the way Hawaii is always larger and overplayed in a box - it's super imposed .....also reminds me of spotlight stamping. As if one of the smaller hexagons from the background has been brought forward to highlight it. Does this make sense? It does in my head lol

I see what you are saying and it sounds interesting. This is one of those items where I'm going to wait and see what others produce with it before I make any real like/dislike decisions.

I agree, that's probably what they have in mind. But I wouldn't use it enough like that to warrant me buying it. At least not right away. I would have used the smaller one much more so I would have had it on my list with my first order. Time will tell if I "need" it...LOL
