I am new to using Stampin" Up. I got my first set last week. After spending hours sticking on the backs so I would know how my stamp is oriented I find they don't like to stick so much to my acrylic blocks. Any thoughts and/or suggestions?
When SU started with these cling mount stamps, I never bothered with the labels because I've used un-labeled unmounted stamps for years. I'm just used to it. When people started having trouble with theirs, I tried putting the labels on a few of my sets. I found that if I trimmed the label about 1/4" in from the edge of the stamp all the way around, that un-labeled edge helped "grab" onto the block.
Also, when I put the stamps on the block, I press down really firmly before adding ink just to make sure it's snug on there.
I put the labels on one set and then I learned it doesn't work very well. I did find though that your blocks need to be really clean and dust-free, and if I "huff" on the block the stamp sticks better for me.
I read on another thread (which of course I now can't find) that someone's demo suggested rubbing the vinyl index with a bit of alcohol and that helped it to stick. I would just try on one to start with!

I use a very, very thin layer of Tombo mono glue, let it dry overnight and they are quite sticky. I did use a bit too much once and it was too sticky. It's just a light application.

I don't put the labels on my clear ones as well. I just find that step unnecessary and they stick better without them. I agree....they should stick better than they do WITH the labels on them but for the quality of product and the great images that I get when I use SU stamps....I deal!
Now I find some of them are bowing up slightly. Sigh. I had a bunch I put these stickers on. And I worry about getting some of them in the right direction without the stickers. I have Dyslexia and my brain just can't manage some tasks.
The ones that you don't have the sticker on you could take a Sharpie and put a dot or an arrow at the top so you know which way is up. I hate that there has to be a workaround for this but the fact is, these stamps just don't work well with the stickers.

That may work! Or at least help. My demonstrator has asked me to bring them to the next session.
Have you tried giving your blocks a bath? I've found that with regular use just the oils from my hands prevents the clear mount stamps from sticking well. Just give them a cleaning with dish soap and air dry or with a lint free cloth.
Also, with brand new sets I wipe the backs of the stamps off on my pants or an eyeglass cleaning cloth before using. I think sometime there is residue or dust from manufacturing that prevents a good cling. I don't know about the glue or anything but just doing what I said above works well for me and I don't have a problem with them staying put....
I too was so frustrated with the inability of the vinyl stickers to stick to my blocks that I just took them all off, and any new sets I get I don't apply them. I found that even when I had the stickers on, I couldn't get the images to line up where I wanted them without using my stamp-a-ma-jig, so I just keep on doing that. I like the idea of Hauntedradio's to mark the top of the stamp with a sharpie pen- I might try that too.
