WELL, she could also tack it onto a friend's order! - that would cut the shipping back down to 80 cents...

I love the new catalogue and layout so many samples to get me excited. The kits will be great to encourage new stampers and inspire those not so new. I'm not a SU rep just loving their new stuff!

My holiday catalog order just got bigger. I made money at a garage sale this morning and then when I got home, there was a check in the mailbox from the art gallery gift shop where I sell some stuff!! Yippee Skippy!!! $$$

I was surprised to see Encore pigment ink pads in the SU Holiday mini. You can buy these anywhere for less money and in some stores you can use a coupon to get 40% off these pads. Sad to see SU fill their catalog this way. I'd prefer to see more unique items rather than stuff we can get anywhere. The holiday mini left me disappointed. I think this is the end of SU for me.

Well, I hardly think offering a couple of ink pads equates to filling their catalog. You don't have to buy one from them. I love many things in the mini and really didn't give the Encore pad a second thought because I already have one. If I didn't, I might consider it out of convenience or use my hostess dollars to get it for even less than 40% off. Different strokes...

DIfferent strokes is right. SU is really good about mixing things up and I kind of like it...because I don't like change...I HATE change and SU has actually made me kind of embrace and appreciate change...if things stay the same they get boring

Some people are going to hate this catalog and others love it which really happens every time. I heard a lot of things about it before I actually saw it and a lot of them were negative so I started to be negative before I even saw it which once I thought about it was stupid of me. So, I decided to keep an open mind and while I was skeptical I actually started to really like it....and then I lost my one and only copy yesterday....but anyway I think part of it is how you approach it. If you hate it you hate it and that's ok but it's ok to like it too....or hate part of it or anything in between.....and maybe one of you will find mine.....LOL!!!

Not too many things I cannot live without in this catalog I like some of the Christmas sets the best but have way too many already! I was very bummed with the Halloween selection of stamps. I do however like the matching paper and such for them. I am up in the air on the envelope liner dies though. Love it but, will I really ever use them? We will see! I will for sure take part in product shares from the catalog though! I love to get a little of everything to try.

Not everyone has excess to these ink pads. meaning they live far away from those stores that take 40% off coupons.

So having in the catalog is a good thing

I haven't gotten my Holiday mini in my hands yet. So I haven't seen what you're talking about.

If I purchase a stamp from my LSS they are all over $10 for one stamp, more like $15 or more. So although $25 sounds like a lot of $$, and it is, it is still a better deal than purchasing from my LSS. I still do make purchases there but don't get as much for my $$ as I do with Stampin' Up.

I am so disappointed with the holiday mini. I don't want to be negative, it's just that I didn't care for it. There was some dsp I liked, but the rest of it....the stamps just don't do it for me.

See, and I just loved some of the stamps. The only thing holding me back are the cajillion Christmas stamps I already have in my collection...

Agreed.

I really didn't see much in the mini that I need - I like the look of the snowflake set, but I already have a rather extensive collection of snowflakes and don't know if I want to spend that much on it. But I had quite a list from the main catalog, so I'm glad to know I can just route my $$$ to that.

Okay, I confess. I peeked. Did not see a single stamp set I wanted, the sentiment ones that look like posterboard (Oh Holy Night, I think?) were okay, but not enough to add to my list. However, I do like two of the designer paper packs, and I'm also really liking the burlap ribbon and the silver ribbon. But I have a pretty big wish list from the big catty, along with another stamp company, so I'm glad I don't need much from here.

I think part of the reason I'm rarely wowed by the holiday mini is because I'm really not huge into Christmas. A set has to be really unique and different before I'll buy it, and there just wasn't anything like that here.

I agree. I found the whole thing anticlimactic. I was hoping for enough to prompt me to join a stamper's ten in the fall. But no.

Maybe it was the 16 cluttered pages of projects I had to page through to get to actual product. So, so, so annoying. It's like when the first 16 pages of the magazine are nothing but ads.

I agree that the layout is cluttered and confusing-I preferred last year's layout much more. But once I get an actual copy in my hands I'm sure I'll be more comfortable with it. I think the "Project Life" stuff is influencing SU products and designs right now. Everything seems more broken up into little bits and pieces.

On my wish list are the snowflake Framelits and stamp bundle, the Framelits envelope liners, most of the DSP and the 2 mini size packs and the stamp set with the large tree. The Halloween stuff didn't wow me.

This might be the first year I don't get any Halloween stuff. I don't dislike any of the offerings but don't love them and HAVE to have them...oh well...more money for other stuff I suppose!

I just used the google link and was able to view the catalog. The search came up with three choices for me, this thread a facebook link and an amazon link. Select the amazon link.

I don't need everything in the catalog, but saw enough for a dandy purchase.

Many thanks Beth for the advice. Having seen it now I can unfortunately say that I am thoroughly disappointed in the mini! Being a US copy we Canadians can add at least $5 - $10 more on to the prices which makes it a little hard to justify buying some of the things that attracted me. *sigh*

Pretty sure I'll order other things from the regular catty, so NO it won't cost me $15.80. If that was all I was going to order, there would be no order.

So sad to see it. I love the past two mini's and could barely control my spending. This one has left me let down. Glad to see it early so I can snap a few older ones from the demos that are having the bogo (by one get one free-by their used stamp sets and they will by you equal value in the new catalog) events. Going to bed depressed.

I think there's a WHOLE lot less Christmas product than in years past. I think that must be a business decision based on past sales. Does anyone else think that maybe they're cutting back on Christmas because it didn't sell well? I'm only guessing, but it did seem like a LOT of last year's Holiday mini product ended up on the clearance rack.

Forgot to mention the positives...LOVE sweater weather, and that burlap ribbon is a must have! Also thought the new diagonal stripe embossing folder was very cute!

Am I the only one who liked the journal? I do hope I am able to catch a video or something showing that "in person"! I am always carrying around a spiral note pad held together with a rubber band with receipts and ideas and lists...it would be nice to have a nice book to throw in my bag instead!!

I love the journal and all the coordinating things that go with it. In fact I have several friends who all want one, so we are going to get together and make them. One wants to do pictures of past holidays, a couple others want to make a book using the calendar to keep tract of dates along with gift giving lists and event planning. A couple others want to make a book of family Christmas traditions to give to their grandchildren. I'm looking forward to us all getting together it will be so much fun

Personally the journal isn't something I would use at all. I guess we all have different ways of keeping track of things and that just isn't for me. Maybe if I were planning a major event like a wedding or something.

Did I forget to thank the link fairies? Thank you!

I keep viewing it and finding something new. I don't think the sample art was really up to par this catalog, so you've got to use your imagination for a few of these sets.

I really love Remembering Christmas with the big stag head. I SO want to put a wreath around that big guy's head! I think if you paired it with a woodgrain background, it could make a great masculine card, too. Or you could play with the colors and make something totally retro looking.

I feel the same way about the samples. I do find more things are appealing to me each time I look at the catalog. I usually love silhouettes of stags and reindeer, but each time I look at this one it reminds me of a trophy hanging on the wall of a hunter. Kind of creeps me out. I'll have to wait and see what others do with this one.

I am excited about the 8X8 album. A lot of people were disappointed with no kits. I have recently done some Project Life on my blog using SU supplies. I still find A LOT of SU things to use in my scrapbooks.....a lot!!! My pocketbook wishes I didn't find so much to use!!! LOL!! But I am glad to see a PL type album offered in the mini! It is going to be on my list!!!!!

It looks pretty but I thought using "maple bacon doughnut" as part of a marketing strategy was just weird. It doesn't make me want to throw a party, it just makes me want to throw up. Which is too bad-- I generally love me some doughnuts.

The mini is growing on me...I REALLY didn't like it at first, but the more I look through it, I see some interesting things I would consider buying. I definitely liked a lot of the Christmas stamps that just retired more than this year's offering and would have bought all of them had I known what these looked like. But the fall-themed items are pretty and I like the designer papers for the first time ever too.

While the idea of a bacon maple doughnut grosses me out, I do love to dip crispy bacon in my pancake syrup. I don't know why the doughnut part is weird to me, since the flavor combination would probably be similar to pancakes and bacon.
