Default SU Field Flowers

I love what other people have done with this set, but I am having trouble making it work for me. Is it supposed to be a 2 step stamping set? Am I supposed to stamp an image with the flower and stem, then stamp the smaller flower on the top?

It is definitely a two step stamp...

The two large flowers are meant to be a two step. Same with the two small flowers. Stamp the more solid flower with a lighter color, then use your stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the highlight stamp over it with a darker color.

Then there are two places for flowers on the stem stamp. With the sepals on the top place, the small flower goes there. The large one fits at the end of that lower stem.

You could also put the larger one on the top space by cutting one out and placing it there, and a smaller one can go in the lower space. They did that in one of the examples on page 79 of the catty.

Take a look at the gallery: Stampin Up! Gallery: Field Flowers - Page 1 - Cards & More - Splitcoaststampers You will get great ideas there.

Bless you! I have been using it all wrong, this is just the instruction I need. No wonder I love everyone elses examples but couldn't figure it out myself. Thanks for the links as well. They will be very helpful for me.

Oh no...I just found another stamp set I need! As soon as I clicked on that gallery I knew I was in trouble, and now that Diane has provided such great details, I really want to buy that set and ink it up! My SU wish list just got a little longer!

I have a different approach to this set. I don't use it as a two-step process. I like to color with my Copics, so I only use flower head stamp that is more "outline-y", if that makes sense. I usually stamp it in two position on the stem and then proceed to color. Just another option on using this set....if you like to color.

I love this set and don't use it any one way. I go wherever the wind blows on this set.
