Okay, who's got details. I can't get my Feb. issue of Stampin' Success to download and I'm too anxious to wait for it to come in the mail. If anybody knows details...please share.
Would love to know more about this. Is there a Demo out there willing to share some details? Does this mean stamps will retire twice a year? How will this affect the mini catalogs? Just curious...
I've been wondering about stamps retiring twice a year too. Does anyone know when the next catalog will be out? I read that there would only be two mini catalogs...
There will be two IB&Cs a year - one will launch in July, one in January. There will be two Mini Cats a year - Spring/Summer and Holiday. There will be two retiring lists, also.

Sorry, the mini catalogs will be "Holiday" and "Occasions". The big IB&C will be Fall/Winter (released in July '07)and Spring/Summer (released in January '0.
Yes, they have indicated that there will be new hostess sets with each catalog. Also that even though a holiday set, etc., may not be in the Spring/Summer catalog, as long as it wasn't on the discontinued list, it can still be ordered. Customers will be ableo to see ALL sets on the website, but not in the catty depending on the season...
oh...good marketing! As a customer this would make me want to host 2 times a year to get my favorite hostess set each time. What will happen to sellabration? Are they going to continue with it?

Sell-A-Bration will still happen, but the time when it happens will change! We have been told we'll have plenty of notice as to when it is.
Today when I logged on to the Stampin' Up! website to check my orders and such, I found a great new change happening in July. Starting in July 2007, Stampin' Up! will be releasing 2 catalogs a year! Can you believe it? How cool is that? The catalog released in July will have Christmas and new stuff in it like always - then the catalog released in January 2008 will have other stamp sets in it. You can still purchase the Christmas stuff but it won't be taking up room for the newer, cooler stuff we want to buy then! I am really excited about this because usually about March, I really don't want to look at that catalog again!
Stampin' Up! also announce that there will still be a Sell-a-bration, but it won't be at the same time. Now that is pretty cool, too! I love to get free stamps, which is why I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. There is a new option for the past demonstrator who wants to come back to Stampin' Up!

Oh man, that demo forum must be a buzzin!!! LOL I think I like this. I don't like paying for two catalogues, but really, us die hards -- we NEED them!! I find this and some other moves being made by SU very very interesting.

Actually, Joan, yesterday was the day it was buzzin' - that's when we got the news!
Thanks for all the information. This has me really excited. Other than having to pay for two catalogs (worth it I know, but I always want to spend the money on stamps and supplies); there are so many positives. New hostess sets, new sets and accesories to covet and a quick hook to those sets that just aren't worth the space in the catalog. Great to hear that Sell-a-bration will contine too.
You guys!! Don't any of you take pity on us "way down here." HA No, you don't. That's the priviledge you get for staying a demo and I don't begrudge you a bit....but I'm so grateful for the crumbs of information that come here! You know I'm going to have to sign up as soon as my 6 month waiting period expires -- unless they've changed that too!!

I think yesterday was our day to spread the word among demos and make sure we all knew what was "really" happening. I hate it when misinformation is spread around. So today, it seems like we are all in agreement over the details of the big announcement, and we are ready to spread the word with everyone who loves SU like we do! I'm super excited.

OK - so I don't get why some think that paying for two cattys is such a big deal! First, the price of the catty hasn't changed since I started with SU five years ago and I know printing costs have not remained the same all those years - nothing has! LOL! Second, how many of us buy magazines from time to time (come on - we all know we do!) and those are $6-7-8 bucks (or more). Sure you could use a coupon, but magazines are not ALL SU samples and the SU catty has NO garbage ads (most of which are a waste of pages in the mags, IMO).
I'm all for the 2 cattys a year!! Woohoo! Mo' stuff! Now that just ROCKS!!

Are you kidding? I have to buy 2 catalogs a year now?
Are they going to be COMPLETELY different from each other, or mostly the same- but with some different sets? (Like how each year only like 30% off the stuff changes...)
This is going to get expensive. Urgh... guess I'll just have to pick one and miss everything in the other. Catalogs are expensive
for those of you who are demonstrators, go to SU website and go to Show and tell, then Stamp n disscuss, then the title CATALOG .......then go to the thread titled "2 catalogs a year" and you will get alot of info on both sides of the issue.
I don't see how people think the price of the catalogue is a big expense. If you buy a magazine it's about the same price, for about 1/8th the size, and most of that 1/8th is advertisements.
Or you can book a workshop or join a club and get a catalogue for FREE.
