I've been getting ready for a dog event and making many things (not just cards) and was wondering how many of you do other crafts besides stamping?
I must have ADD with crafts, i am into, quilting, embroidering, stamping, painting, cement work, and wood. (it's amazing what you can stamp and emboss on!) hehe
So anyone else out there with multi crafting hats on?
I've put some of my other "stuff" in my album, hoping it comes out.
Have a great crafty day ladies, I'm off to play with cement now...
canine46.....Yes, I do incorporate stamping into home decor and wearables. Also that carries into any other projects I'm involved in. To me, if you're a craftsman, expanding those abilities would be natural.
Using my BIGkick and Cuttlebug of course does help, since they each have the ability to make die cuts in a wide variety of materials (fabric, foam, paper, leather, felt, vinyl, etc).
With the various types of ink pads, there is no limit to what one can stamp on.
Both heat and dry embossing also works on many different materials other than just paper.
I go through phasing with crafting. Do counted cross stitch in the winter (too hot in summer), scrapbooking in the spring and fall (but have never stamped in them) Did woodcrafts for a while (until my dh found my paints and they disappeared into the garage with his crafts). Would love to try quilting but don't have the patience. Me mum quilts big time.

I taught myself to quilt, and love it, but it is definatly a more winter activity for me. now that i have an embroidery machine too, i like doing wall hangings and embroider on them and at times stamp on them too. try it you'll like it!

i have a small resale business...
i love love love to buy old stuff and fix it up, paint it, re-purpose it...
this is where my stamping $$ comes from. i haven't used 'household' money to buy stamping stuff in over 2 years.
i used to do all kinds of crafts with my kids when they were little but they are teens now so i have moved on to 'big girl' projects. kinda like crafting on steroids! LOL i get to use power tools!

We recently moved and, whoo boy, do I have crafter's ADD! I've got crochet/knit patterns, yarn, crosstitch, quilting, ceramics, sewing, and of course, stamping and scrapbooking stuff, among other odds and ends. I decided to purge some stuff. I kept all my stamping/scrapbooking stuff, the ceramics, the majority of the crochet/knit patterns (got rid of a lot of outdated stuff), some of the crosstitch and some of the quilting. I got rid of almost all of my sewing patterns, fabric, and kits, and a lot of odds and ends craft stuff that I'd bought when the boys were little. Let's face it, my boys are now 19 (almost 20) and 16 (almost 17) and I don't think they're interested in making kiddie crafts. I'm still trying to fit it all into my new craft room. Much bigger than the last one, but I'm still going to have to stash stuff in Bryan's (the oldest) closet. Good thing he's at college most of the year.
I also purged a bunch of scrap yarn (was saving it to make scrap afghans) and some skeins of yarn I had bought to make kids afghans and ones that I was given.
I am a glass bead maked and have a torch and the whole set up. I have quilted and cross stitched. Now I do cards, scrapbook, knit, bake, and even paint on porcelain. I admit I have crafter's ADD. I am thankful for my jewelry business as it pays for the other crafts.
Judy--I'm jealous! I would like to learn more about jewelry making. I've only made a few pieces, but, I loved it! I need to practice a LOT more with soldering, tho . . . I can't quite get the hang of it . . . :?

I can't imagine only doing one craft! Besides stamping and scrapping, I also design jewlery working with resins, plastics, glass and metal, vintage photo transfers onto anything that doesn't move, and I'm going to a jewelers school this spring so I can be better at the above mentioned items and also learn to work with PMC.
I also Crochet, Quilt and Cross Stitch. Most of the quilts I have made have been memory quilts so I don't think that's very far removed from Scrapping. I also use my Sizzix to cut fabric doing Aplique Quilting. I havn't stamped on fabric yet but would love to try it.
Besides paper crafting, I make beaded tiaras and wands for dress-up! I keep pretty busy making those. I used to cross-stitch, used to crochet, and used to do silk/dried floral wreaths and such. I sew occasionally, mostly for home dec, or for mending clothes. I'll still occasionally whip up a wreath for the front door.
ok, don't laugh at me...but I've never really done other crafts until I got exposed to SU. I thought I wasn't creative, or talented....and just never really tried. Now, I stamp. I "copy" a lot...always need SCS gallery for inspiration...but SOMETIMES..I end up creating a really cool card, and I'm so proud of myself....so AMAZED that I could do that...that I keep right on stamping!
I don't know what I'd do without my crafts! I stamp, scrapbook, cross stitch, am learning to knit/crochet, I paint pottery, make jewelry, and am getting a sewing/embroidery machine to learn to sew! And I'm CERTAIN I'm forgetting other things I do. Lol.
We built a new house last year and I designed the 'office' (DH has one shelf!!!) to accommodate all my craft supplies (pics in my Gallery). As well as stamping and cardmaking, I do jewellery, beading, sew, polymer clay, PMC, knit, paint, photography and anything else that overlaps all these categories! I try to incorporate stamping into many of my projects because it's my #1 fave craft. If you look in my Gallery there's a recently uploaded felt brooch I stamped onto!
