Default stamping on baby onesies

I want to stamp on some onesies for a baby gift, but I am absolutely clueless where to begin. I'm not sure what ink to use, do I iron it, do I wash it, etc. Does someone have a clear set of instructions?
Thanks!

The few that i have made,I have used the craft ink from stampin up or material markers. I use wax paper and iron them when i am done that heat sets the ink on them. I do not wash them before i do them. I hope this helps you out and you good luck doing them.

I use Pallet inks and I used the information found on Nichole Heady's blog. They turned out SOOOO cute, I made 18 of them!

Thanks for your answers! I appreciate it! I have also heard of people using t-shirt transfer paper, so I'm not sure what the easiest thing is to do. Anyone have any more tips or hints?

Here's some tips...
1. Wash and dry the onesies...no softeners in either the washer (including the detergent) or dryer.
2. With a medium heat iron, press the shiny side of freezer paper to the wrong side of the shirt; freezer paper is found in the waxed paper/foil section of a grocery store.
3. Stamp with an ink that is permanent after heatsetting (my favorites are either Clrearsnap Ancient Page or Clearsnap Crafters). Allow to dry.
4. Heat set with a medium heat iron. Do not remove the freezer paper if the images will be colored.
5. If coloring the images, use textile markers or re-inkers (permanent when heat set) that are applied with a fine brush. Heat set (with the iron) when dry.
6. When all heatsetting is completed, remove the freezer paper.
7. Do not wash for one week (takes that long for the ink and markers to cure).
