I really want all the ink colors from stampin' up but can't afford them. I heard the spots were a good place to start but does anyone know if you can get the ink off them to use with a blender pen like you can the big stamp pads?
Yes, you can but you have to smoosh the ink pad down on something and pick the color up off of that. I generally just use a sheet of wax paper and press my ink pad down on it and there is plenty of ink there to use a water brush or blender pen.
I'm glad they will work for you! I love my stampin' spots. I have all the color families and the colors that I find that I use the most, I can then buy individually in the bigger pad.
I use spots exclusively and love them! I use either a junk CD or coated foam paper plate as a "palette" for my ink. The junk CDs are easily cleaned with a baby wipe.
I love the spots too! My kids love to paint so I bought a 3 pack of plastic painting palettes at the Walmart for less than $3. I just kept the flat one and use it to smoosh my spots on. Works great, cleans up with a baby wipe when I'm done!
Have fun!
I love the spots! I would not have near so many color choices, especially craft colors, if not for spots. One neat thing is that 24 of them fit perfectly in the largest clam shell, the size the background stamps come in. They look so cute in there, that some of my background stamps have been made homeless!
I like my spots, too. In fact, I sort of regret getting the big pads now.
Just a little idea for all of you ladies. You can get the ink refills for the "In Colors" and make your own spots using these small pads that I found. They are the same size as the spots.
