I just tried something new with my stampin spots - inking my wheels. I found I can ink up the wheel on the spot then hold the spot against the wheel just below the handle as I wheel it across the paper it acts the same way as those stampin around cartridges - continually inking! It's a bit tricky and I find it best to use one hand to hold the spot and the other to hold the wheel but if you're looking for a cheap way to ink your wheels this could be it!
Wow! This would be great if I had better coordination. Maybe you could post a picture of exactly where you're holding the spot? I'm not sure I really understand how you're doing it?
Is there some way you could tape or rubberband the spot in the correct area? I know you can't have it too tight against the wheel or it won't turn, but seems like there has got to be a way you could get it in the right place and still have a free hand. I need one hand free to hold the roller guide. Thanks for sharing the great idea. I'll have to play around with it and see if I can get it to work for me. I'd love to see pictures of how you do it.
That sounds like a great idea. I have lots of the stampin spots and I just bought one of the wheels and I have not even used it yet. I am going to give this a try.
Thanks, renaissancegeer!!! You're the best. I'm going to go try this now although I am wheel-challenged so it will take lots of practice to master this!
Thanks for the picture. Unfortunately, I now know for certain I have NO coordination for this - call me hopeless!!! But I will share this with others more coordinated that I...
I'll experiment with the rubberbands/tape as suggested by StampinOma... I'll keep you posted if I have any success. Jessian, I tried the upper spot placement first but had a hard time getting even pressure, but it might be a better place to tie it on to...
I'm liking the idea of instant wheel colors from my spots The actual cartridges just seem sooo expensive.
Thanks for the picture -- I use the wheel guide also, so I dont think I would have enough hands to do this! However, if I had three hands, I would love to do this and save money on cartridges!
