Oh my gosh, that was so difficult for me. I'm sorry Daven, I know it was even more unbearable for you! THANK YOU for giving your time and getting SCS up again! It's actually scary how let down I was during this time.
So the question of the day is... What did you accomplish during down time?
I did lalundry (including sheets for two beds), ran and unlodaded the dishwasher, paid bills, my finger and toe nails, and got caught up on my recorded tv stuff.
Let's hear everything you accomplished during this time.
Our cable was out, so I haven't been on the computer for a while. I didn't know SCS was going to be unavailable. I was checking my email, clicked on a SCS link, and couldn't get through. Then I tried a few other links. Then I tried typing in the URL. Then I decided it must be down. I sat and deleted a bunch of old emails. This time when I clicked on a link it worked!
So, you can see that I got nothing accomplished. I really need to do laundry and grade papers. Ho hum.
I had planned to get some work done today anyway, but in between things, I always pause for a little SCS... so I kept gardening-weeding, actually- made a batch of bread, laundry, went for a hair cut and now... it's back and so am I!
Thank you Daven, and whoever else, who keep us afloat. We do appreciate you.
Goodness! That was rough but I found something to keep me busy! I updated my blog and did some stamping. And now I have to run b/c it's our anniversary today and DH is taking me out, so I have to go get pretty and find something to wear!! Yikes!
Fortunately the downtime occurred at the same time we were packing up the basement. Grammy had our Princess for the day so we could get the packing finished.
I sat down to check out Splitcoast and saw it was down, did this several times and then decided "why not actually stamp instead of viewing". So I finished a gift set I am making for the people buying our house.
Now I just have the realtor in CT and the realtor in NY and a ton of thank you cards, oh and then our moving cards, but alas here I sit viewing SCS. I guess I would've been better off with more downtime.
Oh, I should also mention that I took out all the refrigerator glass shelves and drawers and cleaned them. Now my refrige is clean enough to appear in an adertisement, it's so clean. It that doesn't show how desperate I was to pass the time, I don't know what will:confused:

I cleaned the fish tank, and we gathered the 3 fry that survived to put them in a net, and attempted to clean up some of my stamp room. The problem is that I have no place to put stuff, 1/4 of my desk now belongs to a 10 gallon fish tank. I just ordered 4 vertical paper storage and the cropper hopper metal cart, so that should help some. I have so much stuff, yikes.
I've caught a cold and feel yucky today, so I've been pampering myself in bed. Between snores, coughs, and sneezes, I checked the site and then browsed some of the dirty dozen blogsites (which prooved to be just as inspiring as spendin' time at SCS IMHO!) Achooo.
Thank you comp gurus!

I just hit refresh a zillion times and twitched alot..... lol
Too funny!!
I guess I missed all the excitement. I have been busy with chores all day. I came down to get on SCS and sneak a break while everyone was out of the house and everything seems to be up and running ok. Must have been miserable for those hitting refresh a zillion times. I would have been right there with you if it had not been for haircuts, birthday party, laundry, and camp preparations - nothing like ironing on name labels to a million things - yuck!

I vaccumed (sp?) my house, helped my DH decide on which lawnmower to buy, showed my Mom all my new Papertrey goodies (she's in love and ran home to place her order - LOL), made one card, cleaned up my mess from stamping last night and now we (me and my boys) are watching Happy Feet!
I missed SCS while it was down though ... it seemed like an ETERNITY!!! LOL!
While the site was down.....I helped my 2 young girls make father day cards for their daddy, showing them how to use a few things other than markers..
went to the store with DH and littlest one....watched tv with DH....and trying to make my COTM for another site I am a member of. (Got my thinking cap on but nothin yet.uh )
I went back to bed and took a nap. Still wasn't back up, so I went to the camera shop with me husband and bought a Canon Rebel XTi. I found out that all of my lenses from my old Canon slr are compatible with the digital. I need to get off of here and clean my wreck of a house.
I had a Girl Scout trainer update- so I was gone anyway. I just missed my morning fix. Thank goodness for email notifications on PMs though- because I got one that was lost- and it was important! Luckily, it's saved in my email
I had been trying almost every hour on the hour since 7 A.M. EST to see if SCS was up yet. In between, fixed DH breakfast, played some PC games, watched a movie, made BBQ ribs for dinner, took a nap, checked SCS and it was back on line!!!! DH was happy, he got "real" food instead of quick sandwich)

I went to my Stamper's 6 Club meeting this morning, came home, prepped my stamping room for painting, and got the first coat of primer paint on the walls. The hole time I was in the DTs without my SCS!!! I guess that was good, though, so I'd get started on the painting.
I'm kinda glad the site was down. <ducking rotten tomatoes> I had cataract surgery on one eye Thursday and it's NOT easy to adapt to! It's really difficult to read the screen. And stamp? Oy vey! So I napped and drank a cherry slushie. They have great medicinal qualities.

I made 4 cards for my DD's softball coaches, went to her game, and to the team party. Ate way too much pizza, salad and breadsticks, Cleaned out a closet. Just found out it is back up!
Fondled paper and stamps and ink pads, but couln't create much. Felt like I had ennui; I just kept hitting the buttons every time I walked by. Called my DD every 20 minutes to make sure it was't just me.
Think I finished only 2 cards so far today; less than I usually can when I have SCS gallery open to look at while I work!
Not very much -- watched Monk, season 3 DVDs, played around on the computer and... I think that's about it.
I have a sinkful of dishes calling my name, but my face hurts from my sinuses acting up, so I really have no ambition today at all. Will probably forece myself into the kitchen soon, then might catch up with DD and DSIL later this evening to see "Surf's Up" with some kids they are babysitting.

I honestly don't know exactly when it was down. When I got in this afternoon, it was up. I guess I just did the typical Saturday stuff: baseball, science, clean, a couple hours of service and grocery shopping.
I spent the downtime in a panic. Of course I waited until the last day to make a card for my son's 16th birthday. I figured that I would just go to my favorites and case one of them. Even though the notice came up saying the site was down I kept going back to it every minute or so hoping I was imagining it. Finally after realizing it wasn't going to come back up anytime soon, I put my thinking cap on and came up with a card on my on. Hopefully this will be my lesson as to why I should not procrastinate.
