so I am in a middle of a project, and using Wishing you stamp set from PTI, and while I was working I lost two of the little clear stamps. I found one, and I have searched all over the floor for the second one, but there is no sign of it. arhhhhh...I have lost before another clear stamp, but this was right on front of me on the desk, I had to get up to get something and now can't find it anywhere...and my project is not finished yet.

Oh I hope you find it.. I know how frustrating it can be to lose something you just had MOMENTS ago.. I just made a card last night with the wishing you stamp set and I love it!!
I am so glad you found it. I lost one of the little ones from Mixed Messages and it has never been found...sometimes I wish they are black clear stamps...lol
blessings.
From PTI I lost the letter P in the middle of a monogramming project. The curse word that went through my head were not nice. And I have never found my P!
So no more minding the Ps and Qs for you, I guess! :p
I lost some little letters from a clear alpha set once - I figure the vacuum ate them that one time I ran it in the craft room. LOL! I threw the whole set away.
I was on my hands and knees under my desk last night looking for a little clear flower stamp. It seems the "mottled" carpet I chose to disguise a wealth of kid's use is not helpful when you drop a clear stamp on it - guess that means it should cover any stains the kids make 'though, right?
Oh, I hate it when that happens. I have two clear alphabets, two sets in each so that I can typeset words. Just as well, because (admittedly after 5 years) I've lost an *n*. And I used my Basic Grey Grow-a-Garden set recently and one of the little cherry blossoms is missing. I have to scour the desk and vacuum the floor tomorrow in one last attempt to find it.
Glad it was a case of all's well that end's well for you.
I think I have lost almost one stamp from each clear set I own, unless I've never used it! I thought it was just me and I was the world's most careless stamper.
What y'all might do is what you do with lost jewelry...get the vacuum out and put a "toe" from an old pair of pantyhose over the nozzle and you'll not lose it in the vacuum!

funny.. the only clear stamp i ever lost was a PTI as well.. i mourned it. I really did. I would look at the rest of the set and think, if only I had that one stamp (it was the word "gratitude" from beautiful blooms)..
3 months later I found it on the carpet. And i vacuum a lot!

That's a great idea ~ I don't wear jewelry (used to!) but you'd think I might have come up with this at some point LOL!!
It's funny the OP should mention this because I was just thinking about the same thing. I've *almost* lost stamps before - drop onto the floor, wood no less, and bounce! But yesteday I was making cards and needed one little stamp ~ a stamp that said "Peace." Finally found that I had one in the first PTI anniversary set from last year. Well, it said on the label that it was in that set!!! Of course . . . missing. Maybe it ended up in another case but I haven't found it yet.
Oh Jansy...That is a great tip. Dummy me, would not have thought of the pantyhose trick!
Ilina...these little clear things stick to absolutely anything! I have found them...down the track...in the most interesting places! But, I always go through my little rubbish bin if I think one is missing before I toss it (the rubbish that is!)
I am so glad you have located it. It isn't a good feeling when you think you have lost something forever!
Cheers,
Michelle...heck...I just took three goes to type my dratty name!

this is EXACTLY the reason I choose to NOT vacuum in there!
see what sort of tragic things can occur!
This always happens to me with my Just Rite small alphabet...the letters go flying when I pop them into/out of the stamper. I'm going to need to invest in another one of these mini alphabets soon!!!

I lost the H from my alphabet and my last name is Hughes, so no monograms for me :(
I am so glad you found it!
I lost a small sentiment stamp from a Penny Black clear set and it was "happy birthday" in my most favorite fond. I actually lost it twice and the second time DD (2) said she threw it in the trash. I searched thru the whole basket (thank goodness mostly paper scraps), but it was not in there. I finally found it in DH underwear drawer (my craft area is in our bedroom right now). I told myself from then on I will put every stamp away the minute I am done with it. (So not happening!)

Ooooooo I LOVE that set! I would be upset if I lost one of the words....it is such a beautiful font!!
Similar story, I lost a teeny stamp from Papertrey Ink, Limitless Labels, and found it months later, stuck inside another CD case from Papertrey Ink. I kept wondering what that stamp belonged to, then as soon as the labels came out, I figured it out!!
I lost a little clear stamps 8 months ago and just found it a couple weeks ago...stuck to the bottom of my foot, in a whole different level of the house from where I lost it!!!!
PTI's customer service was very kind to me when I lost my "J" from the Monogram Alphabet. They had me send a self-addressed stamped envelope, and they very promptly returned it with a replacement stamp. I was so happy! ...I'm ashamed to say that several months later, my original J showed up. It had been stuck to something else in my scrapbooking/ stamping arsenal the whole time!
I lost the little bird from the Season of Friendship stamp set the first night I used it! It was there and then it was gone, went thru trash, papers, cleaned my desk top and have never found it, I was totally depressed. LOL. Now, the set just mocks me and I can't use it.
Kathy
Well, last Friday I found a bunch of PTI stamps "rearranged" in their cases. And now the "thanks" from my new Mega Mixed Messages is missing. Why couldn't she have lost one that I use a little less than that one???? I loved the size and the font. Now it's gone, gone, gone. Heaven only knows where it ended up. :(

Well, I've found clear stamps in odd places before, but never that odd!! Thanks for the laugh.

maybe a solution........
when I am working with clear stamps, here is what I do.
On my work table, I have a 5 x 7 acrylic photo frame from the dollar store. I take out the stamps I will be using for my project and slap them on there. I then take them off as I use them, clean them and then put them back on the frame to switch to the next stamp. When I am done I just take them off the frame and put them back in the package. Doing it this way, I have never lost one during a project

Contact PTI CS......they are most gracious about replacing the lost stamps with just a self-addressed stamped envelope.

OMGOSH! what a fabulous idea and I never ever thought of that! I cannot thank you enough for this idea...if you saw my craft room you would know it thanks you too!
My funny story--I swear the powers that be had a hand in this...it was stuck to a scrap of paper that I had re-filed due to my resolution to be neater and the particular stamp was very important to the card. I search everywhere-looked at the paper once already and starting laughing hysterically (i guess to keep from crying) bringing my husband to the door. I was on my knees actually praying so he says 'are you praying to the stamp god?' We laughed for hours with a banter that we thought was hilarious.
the stamp? in the scrap paper drawer and I swear I gave each scrap a look. I think my room is haunted....but in a good way!

 I know you didn't mean this, but when I first read it, it sounded like the stamp has been on your foot for 8 months lol!! Of course, then I came to my senses
I have to say that the 'curse of SCS' struck again!! No kidding - last night shortly after reading this thread, I went into my stamp room and promptly lifted up a CD case (to backlight the stamps as there was no label) and heard the telltale little tiny *plop* to signify that a stamp hit the floor! Clean, empty, hardwood floor ~ on which I saw absolutely nothin'!! I don't even know what stamp it is yet!! LOL.
My Dad used to be able to say, "Move that glass before you spill it" or some other such parental warning ~ and promptly it would take place. I should be very careful what threads I read on SCS LOL (doodly doo doo ~ Dick Van Dyke show way of saying somethin' fishy's goin' on!).
Thanks for the tip re: PTI though everyone ~ maybe I'll write to ask about the PTI stamp I'm missing!!
P.S. Recently doing mass production-type work, using the same stamps repeatedly, I also started keeping an acrylic block (the CHF scrapblock 6 x 6 one, or if I need more space, the long narrow one) on my work surface. As I use the stamps , I just stick them on the block in the one central location. Then I can set the cases aside out of the way and after the stamps are all cleaned up, return them to the cases.
ETA: Oh, Linda, letmecrop, and I do the same thing lol!! ;) ;)

You clever girl you! I bet you're so organized that you've never bought a stamp that you already own either (not that I know anyone personally who might have done this! nooo, noooo :rolleyes
I've done that before. I found mine on the bottom of my paper trimmer. :( Now when I am stamping with clear stamps I keep my area clean and put all the stamps I am using on an acrylic block so they are kept all together. It's always the favorite stamp that gets lost. So glad you found yours.

Well, I've cleaned my entire desk this afternoon and failed to turn up my missing cherry blossom, sniff. Or a missing sentiment stamp on ezmount. Not many places left to look - and then I try vacuuming with a clean bag in the vacuum.

I am feeling like a bad stamp mom today ~ I dropped that one last night, checked around the floor, and figured it will turn up sometime  . You're a good stamp mom, Cook22!!!

I would be if I knew when I'd lost it! Some time last week, the week before??? I last used the Basic Grey set the day before we went to Paris, so that's almost a month ago. As for the sentiment stamp, it was from a set of 8 on my desk waiting for DH to bring home some empty CD cases from work. The other 7 were still there, but one has gone astray...
I'm a great believer in things turning up some time - but I still waste a lot of time looking. And checking the bin before I empty it out, LOL.

Whoa.... Paris. If I went to Paris .... my mind wouldn't be on stamps or anything else for a long time! As a matter of fact, I'd be willing to lose a lot of stamps to even be able to speak that sentence LOL!!
You're still a good stamp mom ;).
(ETA: I saw "bin" so checked your locale ~ I'd lose stamps to be able to say I went to Ireland, too!!)
SO what would be the opposite of the curse of SCS?! I went off to stamp a card for the Crafty Secrets challenge and found the single "peace" clear stamp I couldn't find the other day!!
I had taken a little basket off my workspace and put it in a drawer a couple of weeks ago. When I went looking in it for a tool, there on the bottom was my "peace."
Maybe that mystery clear stamp on the floor will show up soon, too!
