Wanna make someone smile? Comment on a card they uploaded awhile back. It's such a welcome surprise and guaranteed to put a smile on their face.
So here's the challenge:
As you are reading through the forum today pick someone at random on a thread you are reading and click on the link to their gallery in their sig line (not everyone has this, but lots of gals do). Then find at least one card in her gallery that was uploaded a month or more ago and simply leave a thoughtful comment on it. Do this at least 3 times today. That's 3 smiles...well actually it's 6 because you'll smile each time you do it.
Then come back to this thread and post: Done and it was FUN!!!!

To all the lurkers out there (and I was one until 3 days ago when I registered)--
I used to just surf the gallery and when I found a card I admired and wanted to TRY to CASE, I just saved the image and went on my merry way. I didn't and couldn't post comments about the galleries because I wasn't registered.
Then I realized that I (and we all) do enough complaining about things in this world, it is only right to give comments/compliments about cards that we admire enough to CASE --or just that we think are cute or pretty or unusual. In fact, that was the MAIN reason I joined instead of just lurking. My first act after registering was to contact KMJenkyns and tell her how much I loved her work. My number of posts is growing so fast because I love leaving comments to people about their cards.
And now that I have actually posted three cards myself, I realize even more how much those comments mean, especially to those of us who stamp alone. (Whew--I sure got long-winded here.) :p
I try to do this every now and then. I know I love it when I check my gallery and find that someone has "discovered" one of my oldies!
Not to highjack this thread, but how many people, do you think, who use the forums NEVER visit the gallery?
As for me, I come to the forums only while I'm waiting for new cards to appear in Todays Additions! I like to check the new cards at least once a day (more often most days!). I'm afraid I'll miss something wonderful!
blueheron, I know what you mean about the feedback from others! I, too, stamp alone most of the time.

are all of you as amazed as i am that there are some BEAUTIFUL cards out there with no (or 1 comment)???? i found a great card that was almost a year and a half old with no comment.
I started at the top of this thread and went into every respondent's gallery to add a new comment. I had to cheat on a few because they didn't have anything that was over a month old. The talent represented by you lovely ladies is astonishing. I had a great time looking through all the beautiful cards!!
Thanks, SCSers, for sharing all your wonderful work!!
Hope that they have the automatic notification that a comment has been left, otherwise PM them or they'll never know :(
I don't have automatic notification. Once a week, I click on last comment, descending, and then click on Sort. It does put a smile on my face to see comments on old cards

Try to do this every day for just a week.
Have a great day ladies!
You don't need a sig line to get to a gallery. Under each comment, there are choices to click on. Just click on GALLERY under the person's comment. If they have posted, it will show up. Just did it again to make sure. Having fun in bjacobs150's gallery and she didn't have it in her sig line.
I'm done and it was fun! Thanks for the boost to keep going to the galleries! I hardley ever get there anymore and I know I'm missing a lot of great stuff!!!
I'm just smiling all over!!! I went to My Favorites and started with the very first card I save when I joined. The ones that had few or no comments, I commented on. Gee, if a card is special enough to add to My Favorites, the least I can do is give recognition to its creator! So - my new goal is, if it goes into My Favorites - it gets a comment! It makes me smile just to think of all the smiles that will cause :-)
I hear you Laurie...I started to do this the other day. I definitely should comment if the card impressed me enough to save!! I tried to add comments to ones that only a few comments! It is such a great feeling to read the comments. I hope I can pass that on!
What a great idea Jami! I was just thinking this exact thing the other day...about posting a challenge to look at some random galleries and comment. I know how much I like comments, and it always surprises me that the cards I expect views/comments don't get them, and the ones I think are only "OK" get lots of click throughs. It's a puzzlement! I'm off to surf the galleries. I usually like to do my commenting in the morning when the gallery is flying, but I really need some unwind time tonight so I don't mind waiting a little longer.
Just got home from work and it makes me so happy that so many have taken up the challenge today! As far as how will people know about the comments...I always select the auto-notification when I upload a card. I thought everyone did that. I mean who doesn't want to know when they get a comment??? I get so excited about every single one!!!
Keep those comments going ladies. As your reading through threads in the forums every once in awhile take 5 minutes to click on a poster's gallery. So much FUN!!!
I try to do this every day and it's always FUN! I figure if I like feed back on my work there are others out there that do too. It's a nice warm fuzzy when someone says they like your creation!
terrific idea....there are so many BEAUTIFUL cards in the gallery.....I was amazed when I joined. I will join the challenge, but it isn't to hard to do!
