If you were asked to put seed beads (the tiny beads but w/a hole) on a card, what glue would you use? The trick is using an adhesive that will make them stick w/o being visible itself.
In the past I have used either Sticky Strip (the red tape as mentioned above) or Crystal Effects. The CE has a very strong hold and gives it a nice clear finish.
I really like Matte Accents by Rander for adhering stuff like that - think crystal effects but not shiny. Many chain stores carry it, and I know you can get it CHF, too
i put some diamond glaze on a scrap piece of paper, then pick up the seed beed on a needle, dab into glue and use the needle to place.
diamond glue holds so well, and i use so little you cant even see it.
RiverIsis, beautiful wedding card. I must be misunderstanding the redliner tape and beads. If you're arranging just a few beads, wouldn't that leave a lot of sticky exposed to who knows what? Love that sticky stuff, but just can't picture it with just a few beads.
kaena'smommy, good tip about the technique of how you get them on there. nice way to draw attention to the beads and not what's holding them in place.
Crystal Effect, Glossy Accents, whatever the name is depends on the brand but I think that's one of the best. Some PVA glues dry clear, but in my experience they don't give as strong a hold as the Glossy Accents. I've never tried the red-liner tape for the big seed beads, as in the ones with a hole in them, only for the little tiny micro-beads.
There is 1/4" red line tape, so it's usually thin enough that you're covering it with beads. You can also cut it to whatever shape or arrangement you are wanting (I think you can buy a big sheet of it too). I usually start with the red line tape so I can just drop the beads in place (without having to dip & hold each one by itself), and then I add Crystal Effects on top of it all to help it really stay.

thanks again
The stuff I showed on the link is only red before you use it - you peel that off and they even suggest heating it a bit to get it super sticky!
I have used penneywise arts tape with great results; these wider red
liner tape also can be used with a punch for patterned designs with
beading on. Just use a punch on wide tape or a sheet of red liner and top with beads; this tape is a guarantee
I've used seed beads on two of my cards. The first one I sewed them on (over 100 of them) as I wanted to guarantee that they wouldn't come off. The second card I made with them I put them on a wire and dabbed on crystal effects with a toothpick to adhere them to the card... so far it's held up nicely.
