Ebay.....my friend who is a demo, signed up someone she knows, and found out she got the SU Boot! She was selling on Ebay and raking in $2000 + a month in sales ( I believe that is what I heard)
Thats gotta hurt! I love SU soooo much, and if I was selling it, I don't think I could do that without feeling totally guilty.
EDIT........I will love SU again soon, but not until I get the catty
I'm not sure I understand. Someone you know is a demo and the demo signed up someone else to sell the stuff on ebay. Somehow SU found out and then what happened? The demo can't be a demo anymore, or the seller got booted off Ebay or both? Just looking to clarify!?? don't worry, I don't sell anything on ebay!!

It sounds like Klarson's demo recruited someone to actually be an SU demo and because the recruit was selling current merchandise on evilBay after she had signed her DA she got the SUBoot.

I've heard a lot of people get the stampin up boot - does SU watch Ebay or do other reps turn them in? If other reps turn them in, are they buying from these people to get their names, or how would they know who they are? There are a couple of Ebay stores that have thousands of feedback and they were taking pre-orders of the new sets and some even said they had the sets ready to ship. How could they have them in their hand already if they don't come out until July? I think, if you can't sell on Ebay then other reps shouldn't be buying on Ebay too. I'm a customer of SU and CTMH and admit sometimes I buy on Ebay but this is a hotly debated topic among demonstrators and I guess I'm being nosey.

Yay!!!! I'm in direct sales as well (Pampered Chef) and it "chaps my hiney" when I see consultants abusing their pre-catty items. When the new catalog doesn't start selling for 2 weeks and an ebay auctioneer already has new catty stuff for sale that they "got from a friend" you know it is illegal!!
I had a customer that wanted to sign up with PC. She had sold before and she said she regularly had $4,000-$5,000 months. I thought, "cool" since I would be her direct upline. I asked how she did so well and she said, "Oh, ebay, honey!" I told her that I wouldn't sign her up if that was how she was going to run her business since it went directly against our contract and it only hurt other consultants. She was like, "Whatever, I'll find someone else." I don't know if she did or not, but I did tell my upline who got the word out to look out for this gal.
Play by the rules.

What do you ladies think about buying retired sets on ebay? If one has only been SU for a year or so and sees ideas using already retired sets, do you think that is ok? I agree about being totally against pre-sales. I'm not a demo, but that just seems wrong. Although, I can't wait to get my hands on my new catty......

No problem at all. Totally legal all around. Sometimes they cost a lot though, so you might try SCS first.
I do buy retired SU stamps on ebay. Usually I get a good deal. I have not bought any new sets or will I. (That I know of) I also buy hero arts of psx stamps on ebay. I also buy SU markers at a good price. I have some old books and know the orginial price and I don't go over that price.

I think that anyone who has a question about SU's stand on internet sales should either a) read the info about it on their site (it they're a SUD) or b) have their Demo let them know what SU's official stand is.
Of course, it's only going to really APPLY to you if you are a SUD or planning on becoming one. It's pretty much fair game to everyone else.
I am not a demo, but was chatting with mine yesterday, and told her I was looking at some things on ebay.... she told me of the contraversy... I guess i was too nieve and didn't think people would do that. How unethical!!!!! i sell deborah's Collection and Homemade Gourmet and appreciate others not selling it (unless they are going out of business). I did not and will not buy anything from ebay that is from a direct selling company, because you just never know the intensions of the seller.
Demonstrators can sell on Ebay if the set is no longer in the catalog. This current summer catalog shouldn't be sold until the 2006-2007 catalog comes out because they could be in there - you can't just wait for the mini to end!
Hope that helps - the whole Angel Policy should be available from your recruiting demonstrator. If she doesn't get it for you, PM me and I'll cut and paste it...
