Samples from new catty-what do you love?
I'm loving the new catty! Are there any samples that caught your eye?
I think the first ones I'm going to CASE are:
pg 198 Memo board Love it!
pg 197 TY card w/ Little Leaves die cut
pg 141 Hope happens w/pink butterfly
I'm going to stop at just three samples since this post will be too long if I list all of the ones I like!
Anyone else have something they just love?
Helen

Ooh, great choices! I loved those, too! Actually, I liked the medallion sample so much that I added that stamp to my wish list.
Also loved the sample on pg 101 Thinking of You. Interesting treatment on the ribbon!

Oh, nice choices!
Ok, how 'bout the box on pg 130? I have a bunch of them in the basement. The "good friend" card on pg 112 just looks happy.
For scrapping, I love pgs. 105 and 65. Kids are darn cute, too!
C'mon, anyone else want to play?

love the box on 130! i think i have a couple of those around here too!
good friend card on 112 - love the color combo! my sewing machine is about 50 years old so i haven't tried sewing on cards but i DO love the look of it.
SB page on 105 - what a fun layout! i have been doing more scrapping of late than card making... and again i love the color combo.
SB page on 65 - another great simple layout. i think i am going to want to invest in some more die cut alphabets... and i really like the paper clip with the ribbon! HOW SIMPLE IS THAT?!
___________________
i love all the faux embossing (tone on tone punches) and the cut work on so many of the samples!
my friend/demo hates to cut things out... i would rather cut things out than color! coloring is NOT my forte!

OMG! I totally missed that it was ribbon on the tree! That is such a great use of ribbon.
You are all finding great samples, I don't think I've enjoyed a catty more!
I love the little haystack on page 27 (great idea for fall decor) and the wreath on page 92 really caught me as a neat idea.
The card on page 32 keeps catching my eye, I'm thinking a version of that might just be my card for this year.
Did I miss them or are these little "technique boxes" new to the catty this year?

LOL, you take the words right out of my mouth!
BTW, due to you pointing out the card on page 101 I spotted another stamp set I might just have to add to my collection!

Love the other items you ladies pointed out!
I also love the cutwork, embossing and color combos this time around.
I like the layout of the Three little words card on pg 139. The colors, too. I don't know if I like the Three little words stamp, but I have other stamps that would work well in that space.
I can't decide if I like the leaf wreath or not. Opinions?

I love how unique the card on page 109 is. The one with the six punched out cirlces and the Little Pieces flowers stamped in the center....how sweet is that one??? I also love Bird On A Branch on page 105 which shows the branch as a tree...so cute!

I love the following Samples:
The Front Page: The Box filled with Cards.
Page 52 Top Coffee Mug with Ribbon and little card. (show you how simple it is to make something sweet for someone)
Page 118 The Picture Frame. Filled with the Butterflies. (Another great gift idea)
Page 163 I love the Wall idea here. I would be great for any room of the house. Of course using other DP.
That's why I love having a Catalog in my hands, Rather than looking at one online.
You can really see just what you're looking at.

I think that's a wonderful idea. I too love that we have Catalog from Stampin' Up!, The Angel Company, and Close to my heart to view and enjoy.
I have to admit. I'm a Magazine junkie. And I need to stop buying so many of them.
I just need to sit and look at what I have now. To get my creative idea.
It would be great to see just how everything turns out in your daughters room..Hoping you will share with us!!;)

Great samples, everybody! I was perusing the catalogue again yesterday, for the umtheenth time, and spotted the Inspired By Nature card on page 96. I love the colours and something about the layout.
So I cased it as best as I could! Here is my version:

I am with you! I want to hold with my hands, not click with a mouse! I love having a magazine or catalogue I can grab whenever. Not that I don't spend my fair share of time clicking with a mouse....

I kept looking at the "happy together" card on the top left of page 167 trying to figure out where the scalloped yellow brackets on either side of the image came from. Finally I looked up the supply list on the SU website and found they had used a square scallop punch cut on the diagonal with a round punch! Very cool!

Great thread! It's like looking at entirely different catalog than the one I've been through umpteen times! I didn't notice the ribbon on the tree on page 43, or the haystack on 27. I enjoy seeing how they use different parts of stamps, like the getting the sentiment for the card on p 32 from the the larger 'background' type stamp in the set. I'm just not that skilled yet at looking for different ways to use a stamp. Someday!
I like looking at the designer papers and simply scrappin' kits for color combination inspiration. Love that they now list the colors in them. Really like the sunny day colors on 164, cottage wall on 160 and noveau chic on 160.

Very clever! Thanks for sharing what you found. Now I'll have to try that technique. I love finding new ways of using my tools!

I think this new catty has some of the best examples ever!
Both of the cards on pg 6 jumped out at me right from the start.
I'm crazy for the new wide ribbon that's shown in the example on pg 17.
I like the candy bar cover in front of the red tin bucket on pg 29.
I love the clip board on pg 145...there's that wide ribbon again.
I also liked the Blessings card on pg 189. Earthtones and autumn cards are always my favorites.
I'm with you about having a catalog in my hand...I miss the recipes in the back of the book, too. But I am lovin' this catty!

What a great thread I stumbled upon this afternoon!! There were even a few cards that I had not really looked at before. THANKS for pointing those out!! I am with you guys, I love to have the catty in my hot little hands, and I do miss the supply list in the back. One of the first things I want to CASE is the bookmark on page 64. It's really sweet and will be a great stocking stuffer for my nieces. And I liked every thing on page 141.

This IS a great thread. There were so many examples that I hadn't noticed before...how can that be? I've looked through this catty over and over again! I had to look just at the cards and not the stamp sets. That made all the difference.
I just noticed the cute tag and card on pg 202.
I also wondered if the In Color polka dotted ribbon was reversable to a solid color. Yes,....it's showcased on pg 97....again, how did I miss that?
Thanks, natlhol!
