RAK!!! (scrapbook request for terminally ill person)
I'm trying to help out my friend who has AIDS. She's going down hill and wants to do a scrapbook for each of her 3 kids....ages 14yrs.,12yrs.,18 months.
I was hosting the swap and was going to pass along the +1 swaps to her.
I listed in the swap area to host a couple of different swaps for scrapbook pages....but no one wants to sign up.
If you can help...this is what she needs 12x12 (2-page layouts) for her older boy and girl. And she's doing a 6x6 (2-page layout) for her little boy.
Since she got started just a year ago with scrapbooking.....she hasn't gotten alot done for the 14 year old and the 12 year old. Do as many scrapbook pages as you'd like she could use alot of help....
Please send any RAK's to me to give to her at:
Teresa Lemuel
1613 Pintail Court
Johnstown, CO 80534
If you could put them in the plastic page protectors that would be great she has the 6x6 & 12x12 ring albums from SU.
Thanks for helping me out...I knew that all of you nice stampers would,
Teresa
Please respond to this thread so that I can keep track of how many she will be getting....thanks
Some ideas for what she needs are:
Christmas
B-day (for any of the kids)
At the Pool
At the beach
DisneyLand
Easter
Boy Scouts (her DS won 1st place in the Pinwood Derby)
Girl Scouts (her DD was a cookie diva)
Baptism
1st Communion
Honor Roll (her DD got the award)
School days (anything from K-8th grades)
Easter egg hunt
First Tooth (all 3 kids)
Hangin' Out
Halloween
And anything else you can think of we are still seperating pictures.(she has millions)
Teresa, what a good friend you are! I don't have time to do a swap, but may I suggest you post this entitled "RAK (scrapbook request for terminally ill person)". I'm sure there are several of us that would do a page and send them to you. Perhaps you could list the ages and interests of the kids, and any other info you think would help us make good pages. What size/type pages, with protectors or not, post bound? I'll participate in something like this, just can't do a full swap.
Thanks everyone I never thought of a RAK...because I have never done one I just thought if everyone joined the swap that at least they would get some samples back.
Teresa,
I am sending you a couple of two page layouts, and if I get time, maybe more. I have some prepped 12x12 two page layouts left over from a stamp camp, and I can't think of a better use for them!
I will see what I can send out to you. It will probably be 6x6 as I have extras that I did for different swaps. I will try to get 12x12 done as well - heck this might get my rear in gear to do my own books for my girls!
Sorry to hear about your friend!!

I don't have any 12X12's but I do have what I call quick strips. These can quickly be added to 12X12 cardstock . I have bitty boos, great outdoors and How Cute Is That!. Would there help?
Tell me where to send them and I will!!
I'm forwarding: 12 2-page 6x6 layouts that I have culled from my show book. (They're not cr*p...these are from my *FAVES* book!) I tried to pull several different "themes" for her.
Also 6 2-page 12x12 layouts that I have culled from my personal stash. I don't always crop with photos. And since I have boys, I sometimes do "girl" pages just so I can play with pinks and purples. I'm scanning the pages now just so I can have a record of them. Two of the sets are stamped, the other four are from my "mixed media" collection that I frequently sell at either craft shows or eBay. The SU! ones are extras that I have "demoed"...
Also sending an unopened package of 12x12 page protectors. Sorry, I don't have any 6x6s. Would you like a donation for some of those? Please LMK or post back if you do. They'll be at my box in just a short while... ~K

I'll get busy this weekend. One question-- I used Westrim (Michaels) and CM-- does that work with SU albums or would it be better to just mount the spread on 12X12 paper (not a scrapbook page) and send to you to mount in her book (adhere the paper to the scrapbook page)?

I will do a couple of 2 page 12x12's & send some 6x6 boy. I just did the 6x6 boy swap & did 2 pages so I got back double pages. I will be happy to share.
It will probably be the end of the month when I get them to you, doing bridemaid's dresses right now.

I just showed her what everyone has written in this thread about helping out and she cried with joy...and told me how right I was about the people on here being so nice.

CM pages will not work in SU albums. I do my pages for swaps & such on 12x12 paper(cs) or 6x6 paper. So if the album she has is SU, it is better to do on the 12x12 pages.

Ok, I have one 2-page layout going out in Monday's mail-Halloween. I just may have another done before that one goes out. I have an idea for a school page swimming around in my head.
I'll see what I can do for Disneyland. I did an album for my mom's 75th birthday to Disneyland a few years ago. I will look to see if I have some of the papers left, so that I can do this. I will let you know early in the week if I can and when I'll get them in the mail. You are a great friend, and if I can't do this...I hope others can and your friend will have wonderful memories to leave her children!!
Ok, I did Easter and Halloween. I hope the layouts work with her! I will try to attach a pic of them here - tell me what you think. They will go out tomorrow. I don't do much stamping in my scrapbooks, but I did use web wishes in the halloween one. I used Stazon ink so it is archival and will last.
I just went through all of my scrapbook page kits that I have not used, am sending 4 in the mail tomorrow, all are put together but,1 has pics. No stamping, just stickers. Hope that will help
I forgot to mention that my albums are 2-post, so you will have to just use a hole punch to make the page protectors fit. It should be fine either way.
I just put the Disneyland pages in the mail to you. Please post here or PM me when you get them. And, again....your friend is lucky to have you in her life!! Prayers to you both.
