My wife is an avid scrapbooker/stamper. We will be vacationing in Pennsylvania (Altoona, Harrisburg, Lancaster) and Virginia (Shenandoah Valley) this summer. I would love to surprise her by taking her to some great stamping and scrapbooking stores. I welcome any suggestions of stores for us to visit.
This thread has lots of info on stores that are near Lancaster, Hershey, and York. PA Store Info
It might take some reading to get through it all though. ;)
WOW, what a fabulous husband you are!!!! Lucky woman that wife of yours. I wish I could help, but dont live anywhere near there.
Hopefully someone can help
try using your AAA. i have had great luck asking for stores & even events in my areas of travels.
also google scrapbooking/PA. and then scrapbooking/VA. always call and confirm 1. the store is still open & ask hours.
When I get back to PA, I always try to stop into Stamp-ede Rubber Stamps in York. They have a nice selection of stamps and supplies. There is also Stamp Express in York Haven. I believe this is the same store that used to be in the Farmer's Market in Lemoyne. I stopped in there a few times when it was in the market, but didn't feel like they had a great selection of stamps in stock. They were able to order, but since I am usually only in town for a few days, that was not a good option for me. I have not been to the store since they moved, therefore cannot vouch for this store. Also be warned that this store is only open on certain days of the week, so make sure to check out their store hours on the website. I hope this helps.
I'm in IL so I cant help but just wanted to say....
DUDE! What a great hubby you are!! =) Have a wonderful trip and take a book along because your wife may be in those stores a long time! LOL
Stamp Express is no longer a brick and morter store. It is now an online store.
They closed the physical store the end of January!!
Thank you for that information! When I was looking at the web sites for the stores I used to shop and wondered why I couldn't find the physical address on their website. However, they had an address listed on their facebook page so I just assumed they relocated. I guess I won't be visiting a new store when I go home for Easter! Stamp-ede it is.
tpd- if you look back here definitely check out the link posted above. It might be a long read, but it helps because many of the stores in Lancaster are Amish run and have peculiar hours or you have to call so they will be there for you. Most are closed on Sundays.
