Default in a quandry...

Hi All!

I am definitely in a quandry here.

I am trying to decide on what to get from the discontinued list and have a bit of an issue...

I want to get Voila!

No issue there...

But I can't decide whether or not to get Voila To Go as well...

I need some opinions on what to do....

One thought I had is if I had both together would that make
it easier or harder to resell if I decided I was tired of it???? Or would it actually even matter.

TIA and get some sleep people!!!

I actually thought of getting just Voila to Go (but my wish list was waaaay bigger than my budget) because I wanted the coffee cup and wedding couple images.

I think Voila to Go greatly increases the versatilty of Voila (so perhaps it would take longer to get tired of it?).

As for future resale, it really depends on factors that cannot be known at this time. Someone who missed the opportunity to get both sets may purchase them together but there are likely (imo) to be more folks that have Voila but not Voila to Go so "bundling" them may reduce your pool of potential buyers.

Happy Crafting (and shopping)!

I have the Voila set, and I've actually used the pile of hearts from Loads of Love to put on the platter for one card as an example, and a few other items from some other sets. I personally never felt the need to get the add-on set, but that might just be me? : ) I'd say, if you really like items in Voila to Go, then get them both, otherwise, I'd just get the main set.

Well, I'm not sure if I helped, or just made it more confusing for you!

What both of you said makes sense. Thanks so much for the input. I can see how bundling it might be a bad thing. I never thought about the fact that alot of people already have Voila and decided not to get the second set.... I guess I'll have to decide how much I like the second set and go from there. I certainly have other stamps that I could use with Voila so....
And no one can help me make that decision.
I wonder how many people have just Voila and how many have both...

I have it and I rarely use the second set. I always find something else to put on the platter. Good luck!

the tray is always fun w/ a cupcake on. or even a message

Ditto. I have used that fatty chef over and over, but rarely anything from the second set.

I have to agree with what the others said, I have Voila but have never felt the need to get the 'To Go' set. I just don't know when I would use a hot dog or a plate of spaghetti, not my style.

I used the chef with a plate of spaghetti on a card. On the front it said Sorry! On the inside I computer typed, It's pasta your birthday.

I have Voila - just love that chef. And from time to time I check out Voila to go, but always pass on it. That spaghetti and meatballs - I used to think it was some sort of meringue dessert! I like the little birthday cake, but can always use something else similar. The one that almost catches me is the bride and groom - but then I think about would I put them on the serving dish, and the answer is always No.
I'll be curious to see what you decide.
I sometimes use short text sentiments on the platter - it's the perfect size for the Merci from Carte Postale for thank-you cards.

I found it! I was mistaken though. It's a ZIndorf and it's a hot dog but not the right kinda hotdog...Weiner takes a swim by Zindorf at Splitcoaststampers

Funny card anyway.

I got both of those on my last big order but used my hostess bennies for them. I also got Gallery because I had been wanting 2 of the 3 frames in it. I got both Voila and Voila To Go because I knew if I didnt get both, I would regret it later....LOL I may not use the To Go set alot, but I really liked the images in it for the hot dog for a cookout invite and the bride and groom because I thought it would make some cute wedding cards or invites. I dont think I would use it too much on the platter tho? And the spaghetti would make cute Pasta Dinner invites.

Still sitting on the fence. Depend which second of the day I think about it what I decide. I'm afraid if I don't get it I'll regret not getting it and if I do get it I'm afraid I'll never use it enough and then be angry with myself for wasting money.

Keep the pros and cons coming and I'll let you know what I finally decide. Right this moment I'm leaning towards yes but I'm pretty tired and so I may be weak and susceptible.... LOL

I have bunch of the Lockhart inchies from Ellen Huttson involving food items. Hot dog, hamburger, pie, cake, taco, cupcake. I also have the SU recipe sets and I think they would all work with the set... as would the inchies. I don't like that the lines are different weights but I think I could get over that... From to Go I like th bride and groom but not sure I'd put it on the plate and I have another bride and groom (or 3) that I can use for weddings and stuff. I like the cup but I have Love You A Latte and I think I could put that on the platter or use it to make stacked up cups... Just like the heavy lines on this cup... I think the turkey is a good image as well but something tells me I may have a roast turkey among my dollar stamps.... I should try and hunt that one down because if I do have that then I may have made my decision....

See what I mean??? 10 lines ago I wanted To Go and now I have essentially talked myself around to not needing it.

Maybe it really is want vs need.

I clearly don't need it but I seem to want it. Hmmmmmm where else could that $30 odd dollars go for me???????

I'll let you know what I decide....

Thanks for all the advice.

How do you all cope with the want vs need thing???

I can afford to get the stamp set so that doesn't figure into it for me....

I am in this same quandry! I have looked at that set for the last year and wondered about buying it. Now, I have a feeling I'll regret it if I don't get it. I'm sure I'll get the To Go, too. But that is just because I lack self-control.

Well I finally decided. I chose NOT to get Voila To Go for basically all the reasons you guys listed up above and the fact that I have other food type stamps that I think I can use with it. Plus I didn't want to spend the money to get it when I thought I probably wouldn't use it.
Thanks for all the words of wisdom!

I actually have both sets and am glad that I do.

I see everyone else's points, though.

Another thought for the original poster - if there is a specific image you want from TO GO, let me know and I can mail it to you. Or, I'm happy to make a couple of each image and send those to you. Whatever works. I'm all for sharing and saving money. I have no idea where Brockville is or I would invite you over!

Thanks Jennifer.
That is incredibly sweet of you. I'll think about it and let you know!
Brockville is north of New York state in Ontario Canada. I wish I could come over and stamp with you. That would be soooo cool.
I grew up in southern Saskatchewan. At least we would've had a chance at it if I was still out there. But I'm too far east now.
