Default Punch art onion? Help.

I realize this is a strange request, but I'd like to figure out how to make an onion using various punches. I tried a gallery search, a pinterest search, and even a general google search and came up blank. Obviously, onions are not popular images.

I was hoping maybe someone here can help?

Just off the top of my head, maybe you could start with a circle or oval, and then cut slivers, half-moon shapes and layer them onto the circle or oval?

I would probably start with the ornament punch and layer ovals over it.

Now I wish I had the ornament punch!

I'm going to try circle punches, layered, with the edges colored red to mimic a sliced-in-half red onion. It's not quite what I was going for but I think it will work.

That would be cute too! I'm happy to send you a few punched ornaments if you'd like to give that a go as well. Just PM me your mailing address and I'll punch them today and mail them out tomorrow.

Since you don't have the ornament punch you could use the 2-1/2" Circle punch (or an oval framelit) and the build a blossom punch for the green at the top.

Here's a carrot that's similar but picture a round onion bottom instead

I like that!

I ended up making a huge mess on my desk, but I got a decent enough onion. Here's my end result:

Oh, you needed a onion slice! Your apple has the same shape as the retired SU Round Tab punch.

I tried making the apple with the round tab punch, but it turned out a little skinnier than I wanted.

Onion slice! Brilliant! Now I need to go back and see if I can add one or two slices to the card I made with the apple and onion.

I usually just copy someone else's punch art. I know I only made a bunch of circles but I still feel pretty good about it.

Those are cute. But now I need to know why you needed onion punch art.

Here's what I did with it:

Outside: An apple a day... by Oddesigns - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
Middle: But don't forget the onion (inside of tri-fold) by Oddesigns - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

The inside just says happy birthday.

I had those Hambo sentiments and really wanted to use them for my father and my step father.

On another note, it's really hard to effectively photograph a tri-fold card.

I love your cards, too cute.

I'm a little late finding this post but for future reference how about using Velum for the onions so they will have a more realistic transparancy.

Lol, you have me trying to come up with a reason to make an onion now. I have to ask, were the seeds on your apple leftover bits from a flower or doily die cut?

The seeds are actually the penguin bellies from a Martha Stewart border punch.

I love how our stampers' minds work!! Always able to come up with a solution no matter how outside of the box it is, lol. Bravo, they looked just like apple seeds.
