Is there someplace where we can submit an idea for a punch art and get some assistance in creating it?
For instance, a guy that works with me is having surgery tomorrow. He's a jokester and would totatlly get a kick out of a funny card.
I was thinking along the lines of a punch art that looked like the Milton Bradley board game "Operation". Not sure what I'd say just yet, but the punch art has me stumped.
Obviously circles or ovals for head and body, half-hearts for ears, could possibly use the butterfly punch if trimmed a bit for the hair....arms and legs have me stumped (no pun intended). And the body parts... have the heart and funny bone figured out but aren't sure about other things.
What a cute idea! Maybe folks on here could help brainstorm. You definitely have me racking my brain now. What about:
adam apple - circle with scrap paper stem
wish bone - small oval trimmed
Spare ribs - small oval edge trimmed twice
funny bone - a word window or other scrap with the sides trimmed in
butterfly - use a small heart (like from the SU heart to heart punch) and trim off the point so that it cuts in make wings
bucket - how about the top of the ornament punch or something similar
wrench - like the funny bone only extra cutting on the ends
charley horse.... hmm I'd have to play around for that one.
I contacted Ellen and she is working on it. What she has so far is great (which is the body...head, hair, arms, torso, legs, feet..). Jennifer some of your ideas for the body "pieces" sound like they'd work great. If I manage to get this together, I'll try to post it.
My punches are all packed away for a girls weekend of stampin' and scrappin' and eatin' and laughin' and NO INTERNET so I can't show you until at least Monday.
But this is a really clever idea and I bet we can make it work. Keep the ideas coming - there is always more than one way to make a punch art character!
Thanks again Ellen. I can't wait to see how you finish it off.
I'm a new demo and as of right now only have 1 punch, so my ideas are hard to design when I have to do it by looking at the punch pictures in the book and imagining what would make what. I have an order coming that will provide me with a few more punches but I know not everything I'll need to create this. So I'll have to go to my upline to ask to use her punches to cut pieces once I know what's all involved. Punch Art really scatters my brain but I'm hoping once I'm more equipped that I can play and be creative too. THANKS.
Awesome job on the Operation patient, Ellen. My DD has asked me to make a version of her in punch art. She has long straight hair and that is my current punch art dilemma. Any ideas for me, ladies?
I have a stamping weekend coming up with a few friends and the first technique I'm showing them is punch art. I'm going to have each of us punch out ourselves. I have completed mine, but didn't post it yet.
You have given me the punch art bug, Ellen. Thanks for the inspiration.

Kathy - you can do long straight hair a lot of different ways. Retired key tag - or take a rectangle and round the corners - or layer several word windows -
