Default pull down accordian card directions

I don't even know what this card is called, but I am looking for directions on how to do one of those cards where at the bottom you pull and the squares all flip? Does that make any sense? Can you help me out?

Too funny, I was looking for a post that had the name of what to call these cards too. Anybody know????????? I wanted to see if there were any posted on here to give me some ideas.

I got the "dimensions" from my demonstrator and here are the dimensions that she gave to me.

Card Color - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
White Card Front - 4" x 5 1/4"
Bar (Same Color as card) - 4 1/4" x 1 "
Squares (4) - 2 1/2"
Strip (for the pull down) - 9 1/2" x 2 1/4" scored at 2", 2 3/4", 3 1/2", 4 1/4"

Basic Directions:
Stamp squares with designs that you want to show on your "tabs". Glue to the 9 1/2 x 2 1/4 strip by placing the last design you want to show on the 2" segment, attach the last three in reverse order onto the 3/4" segments. Glue the bottom of the 2" block centered on the bar. Fold the remaining strip down behind the bar (this should be the 4 1/4" part that has no scoring on it). This is going to be what you pull to get the images to "flip".

Stamp the white card front with your background designs. Take your bar/strip unit and center on your card. Stick a small photo mount on the backside right and left to connect it to the card front. Center on card and stick. If you want instead of using the tape, use eyelets to hold the bar in place. Your "flips" should now be functional. Mount this to your card color piece and you are done.

I hope that made some sense and I will submit a couple of samples to my gallery and hopefully you will be able to see what they look like. Please keep in mind that I just learned how to do this card this week and haven't really got a whole lot of stamps to be that creative with it.

I've heard them called waterfall cards and cascading cards.
Try doing a search using those terms.

Thank you.. I have surfed a little and found the following link for the Waterfall Cards.

http://www.stampohmania.com/pages/howto/wfpix.htm

Honestly, I didn't read all the way through the instructions but if mine were confusing then maybe these would be a little less confusing..

Have fun!

I have been wanting to try this but it looks like it might be too complicated. Maybe I will get to it sometime soon though now that i have directions!

It really is one of those techniques that you need to see demonstrated. We made one in stamp club and it wasn't an easy one.
It's all in how you put it together.
Good luck!

I taught this card in a class last month and it was tricky, especially if you don't like measurements! I made up some instructions for my students so they would have something to look back too. I found a good reference at this link.
