Valentine ideas

OK, I found many, many Christmas ideas of crafts but am having a very hard time finding anything for Valentine Day. For instance, I bought the Christmas M&M's and divided the green and red colors so I could do the Grinch Pills. Now I have red's and want to do something with them for Valentines. Any ideas our there?:???:

check out my gallery or blog for altered frappaccino bottles using valentine theme -- the tag on it says "I love you a latte."

nielsonfamily6 12-26-2006 07:53 AM

I wonder if there is a poem out there for Cupid Poo? That would be cute!

Funny you should ask!!!!!

I couldn't send you flowers,
And candy wouldn't do.
Romantic cards just didn't
Say the things I wanted to.

I got you something special
And here's the inside scoop.
It's very rare and magical:
A bag of Cupid Poop!

parrothead 12-26-2006 03:15 PM

I haven't seen the Grinch pills...was there a poem for those?

BabyNurse 12-26-2006 03:30 PM

Tell me more about the Grinch pills

I have not heard about that. What kind of bottles? Did you put red in one, green in one? Please tell us more...for next year. Thanks.

ajcmeyer 12-26-2006 06:16 PM

OMG that cupid poem is TOO cute! I am going to make one of those for each of the ladies that shows up to my valentines workshop!

BsmtScrapper 12-27-2006 07:30 AM

I was at Target yesterday. They have the cutest metal tins, they are shaped like mailboxes. They would be EASY to cover with paper. Just like the lunch tins. They are about 3" high by 5" long, maybe 2" wide.

RubberNeck 12-29-2006 03:07 AM

which target??? I went to the one in West Jordan today and found little valentine pails but not a mailbox!!! I like to deliver a secret goodie container to my adult children (well I mail it to the one's going to school).... so the mailbox sounds so cute!

ajcmeyer 12-31-2006 07:24 PM

I found some Christmas Hershey Kissables. I picked out all the red and white ones and am going to use them for cupid poop! Thanks for the idea ladies!

psychkim 01-01-2007 01:48 AM

Abby...Walmart now has the Valentine "Kissables" also :)

kathleenh 01-08-2007 04:41 PM

Does anyone have a Cupid poem that isn't the Cupid poop one? I love the idea of red hots but I'm teaching a Community Ed class and I'm not sure how Cupid poop will go over with everyone. I know my own customers and know they could handle it but these will be total strangers so I want to be cautious.

Thanks.

Kathleen

Caution is advisable when dealing with the unknown. I personally do not like the poop poems. So I am still looking and hoping for something. I am also attempting to write my own.

OK< I couldn't help myself -- here is my version for consideration... just penned:

I couldn't send you flowers,
And candy wouldn't do.
Romantic cards just didn't
Say the things I wanted to.

I got you something special
It's not expensive, sexy or lewd...
It's very rare and magical:
A bag of Cupid Food!

Hats off to the original author...
I would love to see other folks try!

Julie, thank you! You did a great job revamping the
Cupid poop poem!

Kathleen

Joypup 01-10-2007 09:36 AM

Thanks! I am a poet at heart... I am sure that there are A) other great ways to "reinvent" this poem and B) maybe even more of them out there... I am subscribed to this thread, hoping to hear more ideas and maybe more poems...

I have a Valentine Prayer that I got several years ago. I plan to use it with a gift of some type for my Guardian Angels (teenagers) and my Secret Prayer Partner at church.

Valentine Prayer
I said a Valentine Prayer for you
And asked the Lord above
To fill your heart and bless your soul
With the precious gift of Love,
The kind that's ment to stay--
Just like the generous Love you give
To those you touch each day.
I prayed for Love from family,
And from every cherished friend,
Then I asked the Lord to give you
His Love that knows no end.

Ok, so it is one kiss -- kinda cheap... still thinking on rhymes with "kisses" and I am a bit sick, so starting from scratch is a bigger challenge that I am up for at the moment... but I will keep it in the hopper!

Cupids been busy
granting our wishes
So he dropped off this bag
of Cupid Kisses

... this is the one I couldn't find but I like your's so much better!

bonbonstamps 01-11-2007 11:11 AM

I like this one. I kept thinking about the other one, but that might be kind of weird to give to some of the men around my office. I can just imagine their wives finding it and wondering what other kind of kisses I was giving them. :shock:

This is an altered version of the christmas whisk:

Valentine Kisses Whisk

1 large wire whisk
about 1/3 bag of kisses

Fill the end of the whisk with chocolate kisses. Wrap in red cellophane and tie with gold ribbon or raffia. Attach a tag "Whisking you a Happy Valentines Day"

jailbirdstamper 01-11-2007 11:17 AM

Candlelight Evening Kit

Place a Red or White candle, a mini champagne bottle of bubbles (or sparkling cider) with two mini wine glasses in a basket and attach the following poem:

For a candlelit evening, this little kit
Has everything that just might fit
A candle for a romantic glow
To linger over dinner, nice and slow,
A bottle of bubbly, for Valentine cheer
To help celebrate us together for another year
Glasses too, so you can drink
And not from the bottle I really think
So keep this handy for the perfect night
And your valentine evening will be just right

jailbirdstamper 01-11-2007 11:26 AM

TLC bottle

I cannot always be with you as I would like to be, so I placed inside this bottle some special T.L.C. May it serve as a reminder when you're down and feeling blue, that you have a friend thinking of you.

Love Soup

Use a hot cocoa packet, mini marshmallows, two hershey kisses
and a red candy stick (for stirring stick)
You can place in a mug or in a baggie and add the poem

Cupid made a little batch
Of love soup just for you.
He blew a kiss and threw it in,
In fact, he blew you two.
He added white and fluffy hugs,
And a little stirring stick,
Add some hot water and sip it slow,
It's sure to do the trick.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you love has left you cold
And your romance has the croup
Warm your little heart
With a little Cupid Soup!
Joypup 01-11-2007 12:00 PM
I love these -- and the whisk idea, too -- thanks!!!
Brilliant!
I so love that this takes it away from Cupid and makes it more meaningful for a faith-based group of friends!
Thank you soooooooo much for posting this.
