Clean and Simple Favorites for Week Ending July 5, 2009
First, let me thank Karen Dunbrook for starting last week's thread while I was on vacation. Karen has been an enthusiastic supporter of CAS from the beginning, and she goes above and beyond commenting in the gallery. Plus, she's a really sweet and thoughtful person, too! Thank you, Karen!
Second, for newcomers to this thread, I invite any and all to post links to your favorite clean and simple cards from this past week's gallery. Clean and simple cards often get lost in the gallery, so remember to use the CAS acronym as a keyword when you upload your cards so people can find them easily when they search. And don't forget, there is another weekly favorites thread where you can post any and all sorts of favorites, not just CAS.
Third, (finally!) my favorites list this week is pretty long given how little time I had to search the gallery (I spent less than 30 minutes in the gallery this week and still came up with a bunch!). I can't wait to see some of the beauty I missed.
hskelly posted this stunning card with a diagonal design scheme that is simply brilliant
lisahenke used Define Your Life on a fabulous card
To all the Americans here at SCS, I hope you are having a wonderful holiday weekend and ask that you remember the men and women who serve our country at home and abroad. We remember the sacrifice of the founders of our country often, but it's easy to forget that their spirit lives on in the military service and their families today. God Bless America!
Thanks to YOU Susan for really turning our focus to how wonderful CAS can be! You have been my inspiration for a long time! And thanks for starting up the CAS faves thread every week...It is one of the highlights of the week (in fact I have been lurking since 4:45 this morning waiting for your thread to go up!)
Here are some of my favorites for this week. I'll try to make them all different from Susan's...
Thank you Karen for letting me know about this thread (and always leaving nice comments) and thanks to Susan and Diane(Fionna51) for mentioning my cards today. What a nice way to begin my day!

Thank you Jen and Diane for mentioning my Inspiration card from Saturday...who would have thought that I, the queen of layers and embellishments, would end up on the clean and simple favorites list, LOL!! You girls made my day though, thank you!!
Oh my gosh, I'm listed on this thread few times today- woo! hoo! Thanks go out to both Susan and Jen for mentioning a few of my cards from this week. Can you tell my DD is out of town? I have had much more time to stamp, so thanks for the acknowledgement, Ladies. And, thanks to all my Splitcoast sisters for your inspiration.
Reading Susan's intro got me to thinking, I probably link too many cards that people wouldn't consider CAS. I see the clean part and sometimes neglect the simple part. So I just made a card and didn't put CAS in the keywords. I was too unsure. It looks clean enough to me, but there may be too many layers and ribbon tabs. I'm not looking for comments... but what do you think?

LOL! I remember when Toy said the very same thing.

WOW is all I can say!! :-D Thanks to Karen (k dunbrook) for mentioning my IC card as a CAS fave! (I'm very confused right now, can you tell?) Actually Diane (fionna51) listed it on CAS fave list, but I noticed it from Karen in her comment to me!! I didn't even know this thread existed!!!
CAS is not easy for me, but once in awhile I pull it off!! I'll have to check all the other faves too!!
Thanks again Karen!

Jen, as you and I have discussed before, CAS is in the eye of the beholder. I'm a bit of a rebel when it comes to applying "rules" to art. If you think it's CAS, it's CAS, and you should put CAS in your keyword list. Your card is very cute, easy to reproduce, and doesn't use any fancy tools or techniques. I'd label it CAS if I were you!
I just put the intro on this thread because lots of people still don't know what CAS means exactly, and I wanted to make sure newbies to this thread understand what it's all about. I also wanted to plug the original favorites thread because it's a wonderful place to find all sorts of great cards (though they do tend toward more complicated, layered pieces...hence the need for this thread;))

Clear as mud?
Got it! I'll change it tomorrow when the mods are approving edited uploads again.

Lisa, thanks for mentioning my card for the IC yesterday. When I see the other fabulous stampers listed above and below me in your list, I feel honored to be among them. Many thanks to you.
Lots of beautiful cards this week, ladies! I didn't have time in the gallery until today, but I was so happy to have this thread to make it easy to see some CAS highlights.
Thank you so much Miss Boo for linking my card!! And to LateBlossom for letting me know. I had no idea this thread existed - I haven't read much of the forums yet, but I think I will begin now! Thanks again!
