Default Organizing & wondering ....

Hooray! A day off work in the middle of the week! Having no kids at home anymore, and not much family nearby, hubby & I don't have any special plans for the holiday today. Soooo .... what better time to clean up my office and organize a dedicated place for my stamping?

Do any of you have any suggestions for organizing? What do you like to store your things in? Anything that has or hasn't worked great for you? Should I store my stamp pads upside down? Etc???

Would love to have your input. Or is there already a forum for this and I didn't find it? LOL

Happy Fourth to those of you who celebrate it!

I am new to stamping, but have been scrapping for about 7 years. My understanding from my upine is that stamp pads are to be stored with the ink pad part facing down (most new types of pads are designed to do that anyway). The actual stamps are also supposed to be stored flat. I am starting a collection of Close to My Heart stamps and those can be stored standing up because they are in little folders. One of my friends is a TLC consultant and her sister-in-law is a SU demonstrator, they both have some skinny cabinets that they stack their stamp sets in (kind of like a cabinet that you would use in your bathroom, or a cabinet for DVDs).
I am an organizing freak when it comes to my craft stuff. I have containers for everything, I also really like the photo boxes that ou can get at JoAnn's and Michael's. They are so pretty and they hold a ton of stuff.

Hello BArb and Welcome from Chattanooga, TN!
I love to have my stampin stuff organized. I use alot of shelves, even have my stamp sets inventoried and posted on the side of the shelf so they get put back in order!!!! Does that sound **** or what!!! LOL But that is just the way I am :-)
I keep the old style ink pads upside down, don't need to do that with the new style ink pads.
I use alot of baskets. I store my card stock in wire towers, using the metal cubes (from Target). If you go to the gallery, and do a search for "stampin room", you will find alot of photos of other peoples stampin areas, you can get alot of ideas !!!
Have fun!
Wendy
