You took your new stamp pad to DINNER?
Now that is true love!

I don't use Stampin' Up ink, but I am curious. What makes the new stamp pads different from the old? Is it just the pad itself or is there a formula change?

Yes, it is a shame that a demo shared that link when they were asked not to, but why isn't SU! taking it upon themselves to make sure it doesn't happen? Maybe they need to hire some new techie people who understand how it works. It's done all over the web.
Also don't Demo's have a Demo agreement they sign and I am sure this would be covered in it. I don't know since I'm not a Demo but one would think!

It's just the pad they have changed (except for five colors that they re-worked to make work with the new foam pad). The pad itself holds the ink better and inks your stamp better!

I am not a demo - "just" a customer - wink. I went to a shoe box swap last weekend and got to see some of the stuff the demos could pre order. Loved 'em!!

At first glance I didn't like the in colors ( I have resisted the concept of in colors from the beginning thinking its just a "waste" to order pads and paper good for only a year. But once they went to two years I got on board.....I love Midnight Muse. I saw a dsp with it used with Baja Breeze- OH MY - love it! The yellow (forget the name) is growing on me...gotta use the pinks to see if I like them.. I am going to get the markers and paper and if I use a color alot then I will get the ink

I saw the new framelet banner dies with coordinating stamp set - gonna definately get it cuz I'm banner obsessed!

After looking at the leaked link - I am in so much big shot trouble I can hear my credit card weeping...love the new big label die -

For the first time in YEARS I have several DSP I want - don't remember all their names but how about that naturals paper? And I'm so glad the newsprint paper is still current..think I'll finally get that.

Great catty! And since I already had my own "party" with all the retired 12 x 12 single colors I guess the leak didn't hurt my sales...

OHhhh -- I forgot - the new ink pads - I tried one -and ya I gotta say --AWESOMENESS
My plan is to buy black (maybe this one won't turn purple) and any other colors I find my self using alot for solid or large stamps I will replace over the year. So happy they fixed them! so sorry I bought 2 in March

sorry so long but y'all asked what we liked. LOL

DO IT DO IT DO IT!!! We want you back!

You can join for $99 right now and pick out ANY $125 worth of product you want, so you could make a big dent in those ink pads right off the bat and not be stuck with a bunch of "getting started" products you already own.

The Basic Black has been fixed for a while now! No more Basic Purple. lol But yes, it's one of the ones that was tweaked to go on the new pads better.

Didn't realize there was already a leak!

If you're interested in having a taste of all the new stuff, see my "New Ribbon & DSP Share":

(Post has been removed by moderator)

Sorry - don't want to seem sales-y, but I'm trying to get these shares filled so that I can also try out the new stuff in June!

Thanks, Tara

No problem. If you wanted to set something up in the swap forum, you are allowed to do a share where people send you the items and you split them up. So everyone would send you a roll of ribbon and you would divide them up so everyone got some of each kind.

Thanks - I'm a hobbiest (no blog, etc) - so it didn't occur to me that I might be promoting business activity. Just wanted to share the cost - so your idea is great! Maybe someone's already doing this in swaps - I'll check it out. Thanks!

Checked put the new catalog. Luckily for me there are few, if any, stamp sets I want. But it LOVE the new in-colors! There's plenty of DSPIDEAS I like, too. But I have so much paper I will soon need to start storing it in the car.

Well have about $150.00 worth of new stamp sets on my wish list - got to see all the new in-colors in person last night and have to admit I am not too impressed - they are definately colors we have seen before just in a different shade - the Starfriut is Kiwi Liss and Crushed Curry mixed - debating whether to keep the paper, pads and markers on my accessory want list........................

Question Cost of SU Catalog

I am trying to understand -- I am a hobby demo for SU --
I see that a box of 8 Catalogs sells for $15 plus shipping, but a single can be mailed to a customer in bulk for $5 --

This is much lower than the price of the last catalog and idea book -- can anyone in the know address this price difference? I am about to go online to see a peek, but I was thinking -- is it significantly smaller, or what?

Thanks!

Julie, the catalog is smaller though it doesn't really feel like it when you are flipping through it in person. Stampin' Up! was trying to bring the cost down and so made it a bit smaller and tweaked the materials they used to print the catalog. They also said that the catalog is intended to be smaller and the seasonal catalogs will be bigger than our minis in the past. So, they are jsut shifting where and when you see your different options. It's a great savings to us demos without feeling like a loss to us or our customers. I think there are more specific details on the demo site if you look in the catalog section there is information about the new catalog program!

I will most likely call Demonstrator Support on Monday. I do that a lot -- it feels good to talk with someone in the company who is hired to talk with demonstrators and to help them understand. I am still confused about the pricing -- it seems like a great deal to get a box of catty's so cheap. I remember them being more expensive -- is this $15 price right for 8 books, and will it stay that way? I am excited about having the ability to put them in customers' hands in a way that doesn't take away from the money they have to buy stamps, papers and to pay for classes that I offer!

My take on the catalog change is that the bolded part is the reason SU changed the catalog. They have streamlined their product lines and are working hard to make SU a good business opportunity in tough economic times. Catalogs used to be $28 for a box of 8....Now the slightly smaller catalog is $15 for 8.

You might get a better response on the demo side of this board. Hope this helps.

There is a LOT of information on the demo website that you should read and get familiar with! This is not news, they announced it a few months ago at least! Very exciting!

Also, like someone else mentioned, this is a question that is best suited for the demo side of SCS as it's business related.

When the new catalogue strategy (dates, pricing) was announced in January at Leadership, the pricing was presented as a "one year trial" to see if the lower price was more effective in allowing demos to get the catalogue into customers hands.

And hopefully, that how most demos will choose to use it in their business.

I apologize if this has been addressed somewhere already, but...

I do not see full sets of the Stampin' Spots in the new catty, are they not going to be sold in color families any longer?

There are Stampin Spots in the new catty. Look on page 153. They are now limited to just 11 colors for @21.95.

Yes, forgot about the getting started spots. There are spots in the getting started colors but no longer in all color families. Thanks for the reminder

Thanks for the info ladies. I saw the starter set, but was disappointed to see the color family sets were gone. I only use the spots, I like them so much more than the large pads.

Unless they're sold out, they're not "gone" until the end of May ... so if you are missing a set (or two or three), you probably want to get them now.

The refills will still work fine with the spots, so you'll be able to keep them fresh and inky.

Seeing a sneak peek of the upcoming catalog would never change my buying habits (and I am a bit jealous of you lucky ladies who have already seen it). As a SU stamper for over 12 years, I never make stamp purchases a month or two before the new catty arrives unless there is a retiring item I want. When I receive my new catty, I start making my list, then I prioritize the sets, then I start perusing SCS to see how others are using the stamps I "think" I like. Sometimes the impulse I originally had wanes and sometimes I see stamps here I love and never even considered. I have learned to wait a month or two and it has helped immensely in reducing the duds that sit at the back of my cabinet. I try to have all my stamp purchases made by the end of SAB and then my final spring order usually consists of retiring ink & papers. With several hundred stamp sets in my cupboard, I try to be strategic with my purchases. I understand SU's desire to keep it all secret, but I think having the catalogs overlap for a month may help sales. When you can see in print what you might be missing, you're more likely to buy it so you won't miss out. I'm really sold on SU inks & papers, but the last few years have been duds when it comes to their stamp line in my opinion (Too repetitive and I have enough flowers to last a lifetime-thank you) and I have been branching out to other stamp lines I have seen here on SCS. I do love the unmounted sets as I usually stamp alone and it saves on storage space.

I agree. Their are so many stamp images in the catalog that I already own something very similar, or in a few cases, the same image from another company. I have a wish list but there aren't many stamp sets on it. I really love their paper.

I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed with the new catty... I know they can't please everyone but I thought the catty wouldn't have so many seasonal stamps in it as that was what was going to be in the seasonal minis?!

I agree that some of the sets seem samey to previous sets.. I think they need new designers just to shake it up a bit.

My list is very small and no stamps in the list which is unusual for me.. looks like I might be spending my $ elsewhere which is a shame as I have been a loyal customer for about 8/9 years and just feel that the new catty is more for new customers than their loyal regular customers.
