I have only been stamping for 2 months. I can't stop thinking about inking! LOL So, I decided that I would sign up to be a demo to share what I have learned and will be learning. I sent in my paperwork a week ago Monday and I received my "Congratulations Call" today - 2-6-07
I have been anxious to receive my kit, and now I am feeling a bit nervous. A thought keeps going through my mind.. "What have I done?"
I love stamping so much and I love learning about the different products and the fun techniques we can do with them.
Here's my question to all existing Demos..
Do you find it just as fun to show others how to stamp as it is to sit and learn new techniques before you became a Demo?
Any thoughts and shared experiences are welcomed!!
I'm a new demo, too. I signed up during the Nov. promo. I actually just did my first event on Sunday and I had a blast. It was a stamp-a-stack for my sorority alumnae chapter, so for the most part I knew all the ladies. I had fun and all the ladies had fun and asked me when the next SAS was. Just relax and have fun with it.

I find that teaching something that I love to do to someone else is very rewarding. Seeing the look in their eyes when they see that they can make something creative, when they thought they could not do it is alot of fun!
Double the reward: getting to create the projects and teaching them! ;)

Yep, definitely! I absolutely love it when I demo something and the customer gets "that look" and gets so excited doing something completely new! And it's even more fun when they call you or stop by to show you something else they just came up with - it gives me a little buzz of excitement to see them so excited, too, KWIM?
So, have fun with your starter kit, and your new business! That attitude will be infectious, and you'll find you make some great friends out of a lot of your customers, because you're sharing your enthusiasm with them!
Do you find that bookings from workshops are easy to get? I've sold Pampered Chef where I got 1 or 2 bookings from every show.. but the commission wasn't very good. I found myself doing a lot of work for too little commission.
You'll be learning more things than ever as a demo, since you'll alway sbe looking for creative new stuff to teach your stampers! I think it's really made me stretch as a stamper because I can't get stuck in a rut.
As far as getting workshops--yes, that can be hard for some. But if your shows are consistently exciting and leave them wanting more, eventually your calendar will start filling up. When I started I wanted to do one workshop a quarter to make my minimums--now I do two classes or events a month and I had seven workshops in January and five in Feb! The more new customers you get, then the more new customers you get---it's cyclical. It can take a few months to get that customer base established, but don't forget repeat hostesses! I have several who host once a year.
Welcome! See you on the demo side of SCS!

I just signed up yesterday to be an SU Demonstrator (with a little nerves) but I'm excited - My plan is the same to do a workshop a month to meet the minimums - I think your correct; my upline does the same thing and that base grows as you move forward - it's hard not to get the fever!
