Wow, thanks for taking the time to do this for all of us Diane! I think my computer monitor screen must be off - the concord grape looks more like a blue on my screen. Will be nice to see them in person in the future.

Sigh, I still am going to miss my green galore and gable green....

Thanks Diane! It's great to see a comparison of like colors. Now I'm thinking I need that Cherry Cobbler instead of my old Riding Hood Red.

The concord grape is very blue...when you put it next to eggplant...and very purple...when you put it next to navy blue. Very much a violet blue!

I think you will love the pear pizzaz!

Thanks, everyone, for your comments here. As for the pictures... I have gone back to look at them and yes, they seem a little bit "muddy" or "hazy" to me as well. There seems to be a blue color cast that was picked up by my camera because of my lighting (no flash). I tried playing with them in my editing software and some I could fix and some I couldn't. If you can look at the colors in relation to the other colors you know about, you will be able to see what the new colors are like.

Holy Cow Fionna!! I was looking in the gallery at owl cards and came across this card:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=44208

I think it has more views than any other card in the whole gallery!! It is so adorable! You should win a prize for having the most viewed card ever. If anyone knows of one with more views, I would love to see it.

Shucks, thanks!
But really, there's lots of stuff in the gallery with a lot more views. In fact you raised my curiosity! (yes, I know that's what killed the cat, but...)

So, I went to Beate's gallery. I know she has the most cards in her gallery, and she comes up at the top as to the total number of views of any gallery on SCS. So I sorted her gallery by views...and guess what? This card:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...tby=v&way=desc
has

WOW!

Diane, thanks for starting this posting, and for all the organization of the comparisons you have made with all the colors. Gosh, I sure would like to have your SU stash. Superbly done. Jaydee and stamp happy, thanks also for your contribution;
need to bring it forward again, for all the information shared. I'm loving the
the pear and cherry cobbler cardstock.

Daffodil is okay- my demo gave me the daffodil, cherry cobbler ,early espresso, cajun craze, marina mist - and while I like them all - I'm going to miss the brighter yo yo yellow and summer sun!! I don't use a lot of yellow -but when I do - I like it on the bright side!!!

Thanks Diane for posting the photo comparisons.
I was sad that Pale Plum was retiring as I love it with Rich Razzleberry.
Now I can't wait to see Razzleberry and Blushing Bride together.

I think razzleberry looks a little bit better with the blushing bride than it does with plum. I think you'll like it!

Thanks for posting the photos Fiona. I'll probably order all the new colors anyway but it's kind of fun to see them in comparison to current and retiring colors.

OK, I guess I really am a moron afterall. I understand the new color kits (even tho I thought I was buying the new In-Colors when I ordered it) but where did these colors come from? In otherwords, where, for example, did Marina Mist come from? It wasn't a past In Color, so is it a brand new color altogether, or did they take an old color and rename it?? Sheesh! I think when this gets all settled, the new palettes will be great. I have a lot of the older colors I never used.

There are five brand new colours:
Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Cajun Craze
These are all new colours ... not a renaming of an old colour.

There are 'returning' colours (that were In Colors in previous years):
River Rock, Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Baja Breeze

The above 12 colours are now part of the 'core' 40 Stampin' Up! colours. They will stay as the main colours in our selection. There may be some 'tweaks' to the core colours every four to five years, but essentially, they're the "new 48" (except that there's 40!)
They're divided into four new Collections (or families, if you like that word better):
Brights, Subtles, Regals, and Neutrals.

And then there are the new In Colors for this year:
Blushing Bride, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, and Poppy Parade.
These colours will be around for 2 years ... until June 30, 2012.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for all your work! I only used a limited amount of colors, so the colors that retired didn't really bother me. The only colors I will miss when I use up my stash is Almost Amethysist. Bordering Blue and I think it's Glorious Green....the lighter one. It is very pretty with Barely Banana and I use it for baby cards.

I think it was such a shock that so many colors retired at once!

I love the new colors...especially Daffodil, Cherry Cobbler, Espresso, B. Bride and Pear Pizzazz.

Thank you so much for the upload of the doc and pdf file of all the Stampin' Up! colours with RGB codes/Copics/DMC threads etc. Much appreciated, I've been looking for these for ages.

I hope it's okay. I've converted your chart to Excel for those of us who are Excel nerds. Can you tell I had absolutely NOTHING to do on a very rainy Saturday afternoon?

This is StampHappy1650's document simply converted to Excel. I'm attaching .xls and .xlsx.

If this is NOT okay, please let me know and I'll remove it immediately.

There are some comparisons in the gallery of the newest 2012-2014 incolors to the current colors. Petal Pusher is one I can think of:
Splitcoaststampers Member Galleries - Petal Pusher - Handmade Cards & Crafts
She posted color comparisons on May 5.

RGB codes are the numbers used to blend red, green, and blue to make additional colors. You can enter RGB codes in multiple software programs like Word to get the exact an exact color match. For example in Word you can enter the codes to get text to be the same color as a SU color. Use the help of your software program to find out how to enter RGB codes.
